After Tom Brady became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, many expected him to influence the franchise enough to draft Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders gave out several hints to link him with the franchise, even meeting majority owner Mark Davis at a WNBA game.
All that effort, however, did not materialize in a draft pick, as the Raiders avoided picking the 23-year-old despite possessing a lot of picks. Eventually, the Cleveland Browns ended Sanders’ misery, and selected him in the 5th round.
At the time, there was some surprise seeing the Raiders’ decision, but they had just traded for Geno Smith. Hence, fans believed the franchise did not want to entertain additional pressure to play the rookie. Now, those calls have returned.
Time to gone ahead and trade for Shedeur man.

This was NBA star Damian Lillard, who has been a lifelong Raiders fan. The Oakland native expressed his frustration after Smith’s struggles over the first 4 weeks became much more evident in an embarrassing 6-40 loss the Indianapolis Colts.

The fact that he could not avoid turnovers despite throwing for more than counterpart Daniel Jones, has become a matter of concern. The Raiders signed him to an $85 million extension before the 2025 Draft, a decision, which now seems to infuriate their fans.
With that extension, they made it clear they were not going to draft a quarterback. However, Lillard believes it is time that his favorite NFL team does what is needed and bring in Shedeur Sanders via trade.
Damian Lillard doubles down on need to trade for Shedeur Sanders
Geno Smith is an experienced veteran, who only a few seasons ago, was a two-time Pro Bowler, and the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year. Now, Damian Lillard believes those accolades are not showing.
He not washed… he just turning the ball over. But it’s time to get Shedeur on the team and get ready for the future.

This was Damian Lillard’s reply to a heckling fan who claims that Smith never learns, and that he is washed. The Portland Trail Blazers star knows how bad the ‘washed’ tag hurts the ego of veteran athletes. That explains why he clarified that he was not labeling the Raiders QB as being past his time.

However, he reiterated the need to bring in Shedeur Sanders and start building for the future. That means he wants the Raiders to cut bait on Geno Smith and focus on building now, as the Browns may not be hesitant to let go of their third choice QB.
Chiefs superfan Caitlin Clark avoids wearing Colts jersey
This game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts took place in Lucas Oil Stadium. At their home games, it is not unnatural to spot Indiana-based NBA or WNBA players in the crowd.

The Colts did one better and invited a few members of the Indiana Fever. Quite naturally, as a football fan, Caitlin Clark was pictured standing near the sidelines with some of her teammates.
She held up a custom-made No. 22 Colts jersey with her name on the back. Even her teammates received their jerseys, and they wore them coming into the stadium. However, pictures and videos revealed that Clark did not wear the Colts jersey.

As much as she supports the Colts, being in the same state as her workplace, the Fever star is a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. It seems she could not come to wear the blue, especially when she has been wearing red since she was a little girl.
