Damian Priest‘s Money in the Bank 2024 PLE turned out to be a memorable one. He retained his World Heavyweight Title against Seth Rollins, even after Drew McIntyre‘s cash-in attempt. However, there was a moment in which it looked like The Architect and the Archer of Infamy both botched a pinfall spot just before McIntyre’s entrance. Speaking of that, El Campeón provided clarification on the incident.

In an interview with the New York Post, Damian Priest talked about the pinfall botch that happened in his match against Seth Rollins. It’s fair to say that he was quite annoyed with the accusations that he fumbled the move. The 41-year-old star said that he has been in the wrestling business for more than 20 years, and wrestlers simply do not forget to kick out.

Priest further added that it was just a moment when there was a tricky situation, but no one was affected by it. There were numerous outside interferences from Money in the Bank winner Drew McIntyre and his arch-rival, CM Punk. As The Scottish Warrior looked to take his chance and become the world champion, Punk came out of nowhere and attacked him. This was all the time Priest needed, as he finished the match by hitting him with the South of Heaven.

The idea that I forgot to kick out, that's not a thing. We don't forget to kick out. Twenty years in, I'm pretty sure there is some kind of muscle memory there. So me forgetting was not the case. It was a matter of there was a situation, but I'm OK. Everybody's fine, the story continues.

Speaking of botches, this was not the first time The Judgment Day member had been involved in such incidents. In his match against McIntyre at Clash at the Castle, he botched a suicide dive, which could’ve ended his career. Thankfully, he was safe and managed to finish the bout like a fighting champion. He will next defend his title against perhaps his toughest challenge yet, Gunther, at SummerSlam.

Dominik Mysterio praised fellow Judgment Day member Damian Priest and his title reign

When Damian Priest became the world champion at WrestleMania XL, people’s expectations were very low. They thought of him only as a transitional champion for the next ‘top guy.’ However, as his title reign progressed, the 41-year-old star managed to win them over with his in-ring and promo skills. Fellow Judgment Day member and dear friend, Dominik Mysterio, was full of praise for his title reign.

While speaking with Dayton from ESPN, Dom expressed his belief that Priest was a tremendous champion. Moreover, he admitted that although they had their differences in the early days, they shared a great bond. ‘Dirty’ Dom expressed his desire to see his friend break every record with the World Heavyweight title.

I support Damian as champion 100%. He added, That's my boy. He's been with me from day one as far as ... we've had our differences when he first tried to recruit me into the Judgment Day, but I think the bond that we've, you know ... I want to see that dude flourish and break every record with that title.

Undoubtedly, their chemistry onscreen has been amazing during Dominik’s current storyline with Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. The WWE Universe has enjoyed segments where El Campeón catches him in ridiculous situations and shouts ‘Wepa’ in utter shock. Whether people like them or not, The Judgment Day has become a family on-and-off screen in WWE.
