The Judgment Day is one of the most dominant factions in WWE today. They don’t let anyone enter their close group and always carry out brutal attacks during matches. However, one person who came close to joining Judgment Day was R-Truth. The World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest, revealed in an interview why the storyline never reached its conclusion.

While speaking on The Rob Brown Show, Damian Priest clarified that R-Truth was never a part of the dominant faction to begin with. However, he did admit to sharing some great moments with one-half of the current World Tag Team Champions. The Archer of Infamy stated that working with him truly allowed him to show his lighter side to the WWE Universe.

Since his return from injury at Survivor Series: WarGames, Truth has been involved in a storyline with THe Judgment Day. He constantly tried to get into the group, creating some hilarious moments on WWE TV last year. On the February 5 episode of Raw, the group finally made it clear that he would never be a member of the faction by attacking him.

He was not a member of The Judgment Day ever. Look, I enjoyed my time and having fun with R-Truth. I feel like I showed the world a different side of myself, you know, where they saw me laughing and smiling, you know when I'm in the ring, it's nowhere near that. But at some point, we had to get back to Judgment Day business.

Meanwhile, Priest has tried to be a fighting champion since he won the world title by defeating Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL. After retaining the title against Jey Uso at Backlash in France, he will now defend it at Clash at the Castle against The Scottish Warrior. Needless to say, regardless of who wins the match, The King of the Ring, Gunther, will be waiting at SummerSlam.

Damian Priest held himself accountable for reaching at the top too late in his career

The Archer of Infamy won his first world title on the main roster at the Show of Shows. Although Priest is one of the top superstars in the company today, he felt that he could’ve been in this position a long time ago. Priest blamed himself for achieving success so late in his career.

While speaking in the same interview, the 41-year-old star said that aspiring wrestlers should stay committed to their dreams. He also lauded the importance of “walking the talk” and holding oneself accountable for their own mistakes. Priest admitted that he had made a huge mistake by not pushing himself harder toward his goals.

This is one of those gigs where you can’t be half in, half out. You can’t just talk about it and say, ‘Hey, I’m giving it my all,’ and really just say that for the pat on the back. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and hold yourself accountable.

The World Champion has truly proven himself by not relying on his fellow Judgment Day members in his title matches. In fact, tensions rose when he stopped them from attacking Jey Uso after winning the match in France. These small cracks could potentially lead to Priest turning into a full-blown babyface and leaving the notorious faction.
