Getting one’s flowers inside the squared circle from none other than Randy Orton is one of the highest levels of validation a performer could hope for. ‘The Viper’ has been in this business for over two decades and has been hailed by many as the best ever to do it. Recently, Damian Priest detailed an anecdote featuring Orton and multi-platinum recording artist Bad Bunny.
It was back in 2021 at WrestleMania 37 where the rapper made his WWE in-ring debut. He joined forces with Priest to take on The Miz and John Morrison and was ultimately victorious in that endeavor. But the amount of work Bunny had put into getting himself ready for a wrestling match earned him the respect of Randy Orton.
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, Priest revealed that ‘The Viper’ was so impressed by the music artist’s commitment that he personally stepped in to thank Bunny for taking the opportunity to wrestle for WWE by heart.
……..Randy Orton going up to him out of the blue and just thanking him for treating the business how it should be treated and taking it seriously and putting in the work………I was standing there and I was like, man, that’s crazy high praise coming from like Randy Orton.

‘The King of Latin Trap’ had undergone rigorous training sessions at the Performance Center to learn the craft of professional wrestling. Bunny’s dedication revamped the celebrity wrestling culture, and that itch didn’t go unnoticed by Orton.
Damian Priest says Randy Orton once approached Bad Bunny and thanked him for taking professional wrestling seriously:

Bunny has wrestled three matches in WWE. One of them was a singles encounter against his Puerto Rican cohort, Damian Priest. They tore the house down in a San Juan Street Fight at Backlash 2023.
That cracking showdown saw the rapper set unprecedented standards for any non-wrestler who ever dares to set foot inside the squared circle. Bunny hasn’t wrestled since then but claimed in a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year that he wants to have another match.
Randy Orton will team up with a celebrity at SummerSlam 2025
The incessant celebrity involvement during WWE shows has seen a major uptick ever since TKO acquired the wrestling juggernaut. Speaking of which, another celebrity figure, Jelly Roll, will make his in-ring debut this weekend at SummerSlam. He’s slated to partner up with Randy Orton against the duo of Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.

‘The Apex Predator’ will have to ensure that he doesn’t expose Roll so much for McIntyre and Paul to pounce upon him. The country music artist has also put in the hard yards for the moment of truth. Roll has lost a big chunk of his bodyweight, and he will weigh under 300 pounds for the first time in his life just before stepping into the ring this Saturday.
In fact, he’d temporarily based himself in Florida so that he could train at the WWE Performance Center on a regular basis. The revelation was made by Triple H, and he also disclosed that Orton, McIntyre, and Paul are excited to work with the 40-year-old rapper. It’d be interesting to see how much of those training sessions help Roll fare well in the ring.
What record will Randy Orton break by competing at SummerSlam 2025?
Standing in his mid-40s, Randy Orton isn’t slowing down on shattering some more records in a career that has been nothing short of incredible. But what accolade is he currently up to? By competing at this year’s SummerSlam, ‘The Legend Killer’ will become the WWE Superstar with the most number of matches at ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’.

The St. Louis native is sixteen bouts apiece with The Undertaker. But the Deadman’s long-standing record is inevitably going to be broken. What a night it would be for ‘The Apex Predator’ if he somehow manages to get over the finish line against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, considering Orton has a debuting rapper serving as his wrestling backup.
On last week’s SmackDown, Roll and Orton stood tall over their foes. With one more blue brand segment to spare, it needs to be seen who will have the upper hand heading into the 2-night PLE at MetLife Stadium.
