A number of superstars stepped up their game in the Paul Levesque era of WWE, seeking more TV exposure and other perks that’d come along. In that list of names, the one who’s truly risked it all to find his footing in the company is Damian Priest. If there’s something called a workhorse, the 42-year-old has been every bit of it. The best part of it all is that he’s getting the recognition.

As per a recent report from PWInsider, the ex-Judgment Day member was lauded for his toughness by a number of WWE talents. Priest’s ongoing feud with Drew McIntyre, which picked up steam earlier this year, has been raved about in particular. The Archer of Infamy was believed to be banged-up during the course of his beef with the Scot but kept pushing through the anguish.

Quite recently at Backlash, The Punisher and The Scottish Warrior were a part of the US title Fatal 4-Way match also including Jacob Fatu and LA Knight. The Samoan Werewolf retained his belt but didn’t pin either Priest or McIntyre. In a brutal spot outside of the ring, The Chosen One was put through a table off a 15-ft tall structure near the technical area.

McIntyre hit his head first on the floor but was eventually fine. On the other hand, Priest suffered a dental injury. That wouldn’t stop him from facing The Scottish Psychopath in a Steel Cage match this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event to put an exclamation mark on their rivalry. It’s worth noting that the Puerto Rican wrestler lost his previous one-on-one encounter with McIntyre at WrestleMania 41.

Damian Priest caught up with Bad Bunny at recent MLB game

This past Sunday, Damian Priest attended the Yankees vs. Mets MLB game. He got himself clicked with someone he’s shared the ring with—Bad Bunny. The multi-platinum recording artist does have a bond with his Puerto Rican running mate, Priest.

They wrestled a singles match at Backlash 2023 in San Juan. It was a street fight, and the vociferous folks in Puerto Rico thoroughly enjoyed the brutality these men displayed that night. It was a surprising performance from the music artist.

Bunny ousted Priest in what was arguably the best in-ring performance shown by a celebrity like The King of Latin Trap. Bunny still has the itch to step inside a WWE ring one more time. Back in January, the 31-year-old rapper told The Rolling Stone that he wants to scare his mother by risking his life inside the squared circle, which he believes he has yet to do. However, there’s no timeline for it at the moment.

Bunny’s WrestleMania debut in 2021 was a tag team match against The Miz and John Morrison, where the singer-rapper joined forces with Priest. The Puerto Rican duo pulled out all the stops and emerged victorious. It’d be interesting to see if Priest and Bunny have anything left to do in the realm of WWE when the time comes.

Damian Priest honored with the Bronx Walk of Fame induction

As Damian Priest continues to grow as a major player in WWE, his success is making all the noise outside of that squared circle as well. In a massive achievement for the real-life Luis Martinez, he has joined the Bronx Walk of Fame.

The former US Champion was interviewed by CBS New York at City Island, a place that his father used to take him to as a child. Priest revealed that his dad would always order a bunch of fried shrimp, something that was his favorite meal growing up. The Archer of Infamy grew up in various neighborhoods of the Bronx, including Castle Hill and Parkchester.

Priest had figured out early that he wanted to become a WWE Superstar. Fast-forward to today, he’s already a former world champion in the world’s largest pro-wrestling promotion. He unlocked the said milestone at last year’s WrestleMania by successfully cashing in his MITB contract.
