Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed his confidence in his men following Sunday’s win against the Green Bay Packers. The Lions played their first outdoor game of the season in an unfavorable Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Lions played their first seven games of the season indoors, achieving a 6-1 record. They have been riding the same run from last year which saw them making a historic NFC Championship game. There were questions about whether the Lions could repeat the same performance at Lambeau Field. The Lions overpowered the Packers 24-14 to further bolster their dominance in the NFC North.
After allowing an early field goal, the Lions responded by scoring 24 unanswered points, ultimately securing a 24-14 victory. Their performance included 124 rushing yards, zero offensive turnovers, and a pick-six by safety Kerby Joseph.
Dan Campbell, who was facing doxing for a couple of months, is reveling in the newfound success once again. Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters the win demonstrated the Lions’ ability to succeed in any setting.
The Lions have just two more outdoor games left in the regular season, scheduled for Weeks 16 and 17. They travel to Soldier Field in Week 16 to face the Chicago Bears and to Levi’s Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers. The Lions could already set a spot aside for themselves in the playoffs if they continue in the current form and pace.
NFL Executive thinks the Detroit Lions are tougher than Kansas City Chiefs
Detroit Lions are the team to watch out for this season, according to an NFL exec from another playoff-caliber team. The executive added that if he could place a bet on any team to win it all this season, he’d choose the Lions.
In the article by Mike Sando for the Athletic, he also cited a defensive coach who applauded the Lions for their performance in the cold wind and rain. The defensive coach praised how the Lions were able to dominate the terrain of Wisconsin.
The Lions travel to Houston in the upcoming week. The Lions don’t face a high-powered offense until Green Bay in Week 14, Buffalo in Week 15, and potentially San Francisco in Week 17.
