After Davante Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders have a chance to grab the first-round picks of the 2025 NFL Draft with the trade of star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Looks like, Dan Orlovsky has just the perfect place for him to land– the Detroit Lions.

Following the victory against the Dallas Cowboys, the Lions’ momentum especially the defense appears to have broken after star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson sustained a season-ending injury. Without him, there have been speculations that the team might not even make it to the Super Bowl

There’s a possibility that Hutchinson would recover by the Super Bowl game in February but for them to reach there, they need a solid defensive player which the sports journalists believe is Crosby. In the recent episode of ESPN’s NFL on Live, Orlovksy stated that the Lions should immediately approach the Raiders with a trade deal to acquire Crosby– even if it cost them the first-round pick of 2025.

Detroit can’t waste this opportunity. I don’t care if it cost you first-round pick, you give it. I don’t care if it costs you first or second pick, you give it. You are the best team in the NFC. I think you call the Cleveland Browns and see what it would cost to get Myles Garrett or Za’Darius Smith.

Dan Orlovsky asserted

Orlovsky claimed that replacing Hutchinson wouldn’t be an easy decision for the Lions and if they are considering any player via trade, Crosby should be their first preference.

Dan Orlovsky suggests Myles Garrett as a logical trade candidate for Browns

While the rest of the panel didn’t react much to the trade for Crosby from the Raiders, they found Orlovsky’s suggestion about Myles Garrett’s trade from the Cleveland Browns more logical. Coming off his first Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023, the Browns’ defense is majorly dependent on Garrett.

Although the Browns’ current standing of 1-5 appears beyond any hope, the star pass rusher still has faith in the team. He shared that he is optimistic about this season as the team has many great leaders, including himself in the locker room.

Even if the 2024 season didn’t go as the Browns had planned, the 28-year-old defensive star would certainly be part of their rebuild for the future. However, he is under contract with Cleveland till the 2026 season, that’s why Za’Darius Smith was also a name to replace Hutchinson but only if he could run as the Lions’ star rusher.
