When Aaron Rodgers decided to join the Pittsburgh Steelers, many wondered if the then-oldest player in the league had it in him to lead the franchise to a successful season.
One of them was ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, who suggested via video conference on The Pat McAfee Show that the Steelers might not be that good if the four-time league MVP was signing with them.
He chose to opine on that line of thought after witnessing what Rodgers could not do despite having all the support he enjoyed with the New York Jets. There were times during the season when Orlovsky’s opinion might have held true, as Steelers fans wanted head coach Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers’ head after a series of underwhelming performances.
Now, after 16 weeks of football, the 42-year-old quarterback is standing pat with a team that has won three straight games, and could finish with the AFC North title, which means they could likely enjoy a wild-card bye.
Maybe we owe Omar Khan, their General Manager, and maybe Aaron Rodgers a little bit of an apology.
Dan Orlovsky said on NFL Live
The former quarterback recalled that when the Steelers lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10, he had serious doubts about the state of Pittsburgh’s offense.
"Maybe we owe … Aaron Rodgers a little bit of an apology."

His opinion has changed after witnessing how they have transformed their style of play in the past few weeks, leading him to apologize for his earlier comments, as Rodgers and his offense have been humming.
Aaron Rodgers had high praise for Kenneth Gainwell
While reversing his original opinion on Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dan Orlovsky mentioned how Kenneth Gainwell‘s performances have gone on to make GM Omar Khan look like the best front office executive in the league.
Even the superstar quarterback has been appreciative of what he is getting from the running back cum part-time wide receiver. Then, after his ridiculous ‘Catch of the Year’ nominee-worthy attempt in their win over the Lions, Rodgers said this:
Kenny’s been unbelievable in the passing game… He is so damn smart. I was telling them I wish I had played with Kenny Gainwell for 10 years.
Aaron Rodgers told reporters
The California native has seen his fair share of players in the 21 years he has spent in the league. For him to say that he wished he had the 5th round pick with him for a decade speaks to the value he sees in Gainwell.

Rodgers has a history of chewing out players he does not find to be good enough. Therefore, this was one of the highest forms of praise the Super Bowl-winning Mississippi native can think of.
Aaron Rodgers talked trash to Lions players during win
Compared to his time with the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers is playing with a smile on his face. That smile has also brought out his trash-talking best, especially when he faces off against opposing players.

In their previous game against the Dolphins, the Super Bowl champion QB was seen talking trash to his opponents. This time, he reserved some for the Lions as well.
Oh, you don’t want me to help pick you up? Why, cause you’re slower than a 42-year-old? Is that why?
Aaron Rodgers said to Jack Campbell
This was after the Steelers’ QB scrambled to his right as Jack Campbell chased him down, but could not reach him until he ran out of bounds. The Lions’ linebacker did not respond, as he probably knew there was no point in talking back to an all-time great.

If Aaron Rodgers continues to play with this vigor and joy, he could lead the Steelers to win their final two games. They could seal their division if they win against the Cleveland Browns. After that, all eyes will be on the postseason.
