Lamar Jackson is set to return after missing the past few weeks with a hamstring injury. The hope among Baltimore Ravens fans is that the superstar QB can spark a rally that could help turn the 2–5 team’s fortunes around.
That was not the record their fans, or the players and coaches, had in mind when preparing in the offseason. The front office had assembled arguably the best roster this team has had for quite some time.
Then, for this team to lose games left, right, and center prompted serious questions about the state of the team. Some believed there was something deep-rooted, which is why no one could explain how they lost games despite being in winning positions.
Jackson, by his own admission, decided to take matters into his own hands and asked the equipment handlers to remove all ‘distractions’ from the locker room.
He believes the team has work to do. They might have, as ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky thinks the football world has not seen the best version of the Ravens’ offense.
This football team, and really this offense, is probably the biggest unknown in the NFL right now. We haven’t seen this version of the Ravens that we are going to watch on Thursday Night… This is a great unknown… This team should like the Super Bowl team we thought.

The former Detroit Lions QB might have a point, as the Ravens’ offense will be at its healthiest heading into Week 9. Orlovsky believes that the mystery about that offense could help Lamar Jackson lead his team to the Super Bowl.
Dan Orlovsky believes this Ravens offense could be better than last years
Dan Orlovsky and the rest of the football world saw how Derrick Henry‘s addition unlocked an additional dimension to the Baltimore Ravens last season. This time, the analyst believes they will be much better.
A lurking unknown giant. The team we watch tomorrow night offensively (one which was historically great last year) will not have played 1 snap together this season yet…

He feels the return of offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley will help the offense take another step. That way, the likes of the offseason addition of DeAndre Hopkins will get more freedom to exploit their strengths.

Orlovsky also feels that Lamar Jackson is the key, and the way he has made decisions about the team suggests he is going to lead them by example. This creates a scary prospect for opposing defenses.
Lamar Jackson and Ravens offense have opportunity to stretch their legs in Week 9
Lamar Jackson could not have thought of a better opponent to ease himself back into the team. His Baltimore Ravens are going to travel to his home state of Florida to take on the Miami Dolphins.

Considering all that Dan Orlovsky pointed out, it seems they cannot get a better opportunity than to take a shot at a team that allows the 7th most yards in the league.
The Ravens’ defense also has to pull up their socks. They are not that far behind the Dolphins. That makes this the best game for both units to test variations.
