NFL presenter Dan Orlovsky ripped into Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones for his recent comments on Baltimore Ravens rusher Derrick Henry. The Dallas Cowboys let Henry go after failing to finalize a deal during the offseason.
Jerry Jones initially noted money was the key reason behind the failure of a contract finalization. Recently, he made another statement on Henry, claiming that the 30-year-old wouldn’t fit into the Dallas Cowboys offense. Adding the can’t-do card has gone down poorly as the Cowboys have stumbled to a 3-3 start.
Orlovsky couldn’t believe that Jones would say something along these lines. Speaking in an episode of Get Up, Orlovsky expressed his surprise, as well as gave a very unfiltered counter to the Cowboys owner.
Orlovsky highlighted several aspects of how Derrick Henry, as an individual, has played better than the entire Cowboys franchise in the season. He also expressed his opinion that Jones should be handling the footballing decisions. Despite various calls to bring in a new coach, Jones has been stubborn on his decision as if they want to remain mediocre.

Derrick Henry has been playing exceptionally well this season. He’s on pace to record 2,120 rushing yards in 2024 and set a new single season record for most rushing yards. He has averaged 124.7 through the first seven games with 873 yards. The 873 yards is the highest number of rushing yards by any player since DeMarco Murray in 2014 for the Cowboys.
Jeff Saturday calls out Jerry Jones after recent Derrick Henry drama
NFL Insider Jeff Saturday doesn’t believe what Jerry Jones has been selling for the past weeks. Saturday expressed concern, via ESPN Get Up, regarding Jones’ statement about Derrick Henry being an unfitting candidate in Dallas.
Saturday claimed that Jerry Jones has been feeding people ‘lies’ and making excuses. He noted that Derrick Henry would have bolstered the Cowboys, by creating a better support for Dak Prescott.
He pointed out that Henry also struggled to fit in the Ravens’ system but still became a crucial part of their game plan. Saturday also suggested that Jones should accept his mistakes and agree that he has failed to form a solid roster.
