Dana White has admitted that the UFC will have to move next weekend’s pay-per-view event from Los Angeles if the California fires persist. UFC 311 PPV (pay-per-view): Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan 2 takes place in the brand-new Intuit Dome. But things are not looking up for the locale.
Brass is starting the new year with UFC 311 as long-reigning Islam Makhachev makes a fourth lightweight title defense against Arman Tsarukyan. In the PPV co-mains, Merab Dvalishvili meets bantamweight top seed Umar Nurmagomedov. However, with deadly wildfires continuing to ravage parts of California, the event may have to shift.
Monday night’s NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings shifted from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Now, it’s all eyes on Dana White and Co., and their UFC 311 PPV offering. Taking place just over a mile away at the new Intuit Dome, there are concerns over safety. The LA Clippers vs. Charlotte Hornets at Intuit was also postponed similarly.

Ariel Helwani reported it might move to the combat city – Las Vegas. Friday, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) reportedly monitored and worked closely with officials to determine the best course of action. For now, Intuit Dome is still home to Dana White’s first PPV card of 2025. But it’s edging to the brink of change.
CSAC head issues statement on fate of UFC 311
Firefighters from Clark County, Nevada are trailing to Southern California to help the Golden State battle the massive flames in the Pacific Palisades. Dana White pledged his help to Nevada Governor, Joe Lombardo and his firefighting assets deployable. White and Co. previously donated $1 million to the Hawaii wildfires relief, 2023.
But that does not solidify the fate of his upcoming UFC 311: “Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan 2” PPV (pay-per-view) event. It is to take shape in southwestern Los Angeles County, roughly around the Palisades fires. A number of major sporting events in the Los Angeles area – ranging from an NFL playoff game to NBA regular season games – have moved.
UFC owner Ari Emmanuel has also since lost his home in Los Angeles to the fires. As part of Friday’s episode of The Craic on Helwani’s “Uncrowned” network, host Petesy Carroll got a statement from CSAC boss Andy Foster.
The UFC has made no public comment on the situation. However, the Intuit Dome has now issued a statement regarding several events for the venue, stating that UFC 311 will go ahead. Here is hoping that next week, that comes true.
