Sean Strickland is infamous for making fun of others and not giving a hoot. But on this occasion, UFC CEO and headman Dana White made him the brunt of the joke. The brash UFC middleweight title contender faces Dricus Du Plessis at the UFC 312 PPV this Saturday.

On Saturday night, the polarizing, far-right jungle man “Tarzan” will try to reverse his luck from when Du Plessis defeated him for the gold at UFC 297. It comes as no surprise that the American has already made his presence felt in the land down under. Before the UFC 312 PPV affair at Qudos Bank Arena, Strickland went viral for his new mustache! Dana White left the Aussie crowd in stitches with his reaction to it!

Strickland has already been going viral throughout fight week due to his pre-fight antics and new hairy thread. Thursday at the Qudos Bank Arena, media scrums asked White how he felt about this new look; the bossman used his prime business acumen of override and ride on to veer away from it! The sequence left the hardcore Strickland and all the fans present laughing.

Tensions are already super flared as Strickland (29-6 MMA, 16-6 UFC) will rematch for the middleweight title and promises war, again. He felt Canadian leftists robbed him with a split decision back in UFC 297. This time, he promises it should be different. The Stache-Attaché incident, though, puts a light touch to it all. However, this is not the only physical discrepancy the title challenger is carrying this week.

Dricus Du Plessis levels accusation that rival has staph

The first fight at UFC 297 in January 2024 ended with “Stillknocks” snagging the belt in a debated split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47). Du Plessis sees no foul and means to prove it this time. He has been paying close attention to the untethered Tarzan. Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland met face-to-face for the first time during fight week after exchanging words at the UFC 312 pre-fight conference.

However, truth of the matter is, he has been paying closer attention than that. Media poster signing/photoshoots for the UFC 312: Du Plessis vs. Strickland 2 PPV main card went down this week. Strickland donned his new fight threads and a weird mustache.

On Wednesday, Du Plessis posted a photo juxtaposing Strickland from the first time they met and then during the fight week in Australia. He followed it up on his IG stories with the caption, “What? He grew taller and added staph infection to his arsenal. Oh sh*t.” …And yes, Strickland’s left arm did sport a very dominant puncture wound resembling staph or other contact sport fallout. Obviously, the matter went quite viral.

Staph infections are caused by Staphylococcus bacteria and are often found on the skin. Contact sports cultures spread them much faster. Fight fans usually condemn those who hide it and put others at risk. However, brazen Tarzan said he does not get Staph. Now the narrative might change, given whether he wins or loses. But time will tell if he was telling the truth.
