Dana White snapped back at his haters and MMA pundits who criticized the potential of UFC 300. The UFC CEO made a montage that included clips of all the MMA experts who raised doubts about White’s decision. This also included former UFC fighter and Joe Rogan‘s friend, Brendan Schaub who recently gave his reasoning for the criticism.

Schaub shared a video on his YouTube channel and talked about how he appreciated Dana White for what he did. However, Schaub also revealed that UFC needs people like him who give constructive criticism about the promotion.

He basically made like his version of a diss track, of all the people in MMA media..But some of the people in MMA media who were kind of critiquing UFC 300…. This side of the media that doesn’t work for the UFC and work for ESPN or is under the thumb of Dana, you need us.  It can’t be just a j**k-off fest of the UFC because then that’s not media, that’s propaganda. Then you’re no different than Fox or CNN.

Ahead of UFC 300, several experts questioned White’s decision regarding some fights including the BMF battle. For many fans, on paper, the card looked weak. However, all the doubts vanished when UFC 300 gave the viewers some of the most thrilling moments in recent UFC history.

White is known to retaliate against his haters and this time even Schaub couldn’t escape the heat. Schaub used to be part of UFC back in 2010. However, the fighter retired after Joe Rogan sat him down and told him he should quit fighting. Schaub and Rogan are still good friends, however, the same might not be the case with Dana White.

Brendan Schaub’s relationship with Dana White

After retiring from UFC, Brendan Schaub has tried his luck at comedy as well as podcasting. The former fighter occasionally does stand-up comedy gigs and often talks about UFC events on his podcast channels.

One of his statements regarding UFC 279 resulted in White blasting Schaub for his remarks. Schaub didn’t react in a hostile way, instead used that as material in his stand-up comedy.

If mine and Dana's relationship was a movie, it would be 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Listen, he's the evil warden, I'm Andy Dufresne... I crawled through some s**t to get away from that man and get to where I'm at.

Schaub mentioned that he doesn’t hate White or his opinions and thanked him for the opportunity he gave him at UFC. Nevertheless, this frequent tussle between the UFC and the media is something that is not going anywhere soon.
