The ongoing drama between Canelo Alvarez and Jake Paul has taken center stage in the boxing world. Paul’s dream of facing the Mexican superstar was recently derailed by Saudi delegate Turki Alalshikh’s intervention. As a close friend of Alalshikh, UFC CEO Dana White offered his thoughts on the power dynamics in boxing.

Rumors swirled about Canelo Alvarez possibly fighting Jake Paul in the coming months before facing Terence Crawford in a super fight. However, Alvarez suddenly chose to sign a four-fight deal that shut down all the developments with Paul’s team. Dana White stated that such moves are effortless for Saudi royalty, given Alalshikh’s immense influence in the world of boxing.

They control the sport of boxing right now. I don’t think it’s hard for then to steal anybody from anybody. Totally different levels there.

Alalshikh made it clear that Paul shouldn’t be competing with him when it comes to making boxing bouts. He hilariously suggested the YouTuber turned boxer to fight Mr Beast for a YouTube belt. Alvarez doubled down on this and posted a video where he mentioned that he only fights boxers.

The setback was a brutal blow for Jake Paul. It left him furious and added more fuel to the ongoing drama. In response, he leaked a confidential agreement allegedly showing that Alvarez had signed to fight him before backing out. Paul accused Alvarez of ducking him, and instead taking a more lucrative deal with the Saudis.

Jake Paul often calls himself boxing’s current face, which seems exaggerated, yet his influence and popularity make the claim somewhat believable. By defeating former UFC legends and utilizing an exceptional marketing team, he has built a strong reputation for himself. His relentless trash-talking hypes fights and strengthens his case as a marketable, entertaining challenger for Canelo Alvarez in boxing.

Renowned promoter Eddie Hearn supported this narrative and claimed that Alvarez could have easily earned $80 million by facing Paul. In September, Alvarez is set to fight Terence Crawford in Riyadh, a highly anticipated showdown. Recently, Paul asserted that aside from that bout, a fight between him and Alvarez would be the biggest event.

No matter how much money they spend, they won’t be able to make a bigger fight than me and Canelito. That irked them to the core. And don’t say Conor…he’s more washed than a laundromat Dummies could have made Canelo September fight so much bigger by letting us do our thing and me taking his names to the masses But they knew I was KO his little a**.

The boxer has since been active on social media, making strong insults at Alvarez and Turki Alalshikh. His fans are eager to see what’s next for the ‘Problem Child.’ However, it seems like Paul will have to wait for his dream to fight Canelo Alvarez.
