The UFC White House event stands as one of the most highly anticipated spectacles in recent years. Initially, it was announced by President Donald Trump and later confirmed by CEO Dana White, who has high expectations for the event. Consequently, top superstars like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones have publicly expressed strong interest in competing on this historic card.
McGregor remains absent from UFC competition for over three years, leaving fans eager to witness his long-awaited octagon return. Similarly, Jones recently declared retirement but surprisingly re-entered the testing pool, aiming for a potential appearance at the White House event. In a recent interview, the CEO discussed both superstars, but sent out a mixed signal.
He (Jones) already put himself back in the testing pool, saying he wants to fight at the White House. He’s back, but we’re not talking about fights for him right now. I trust Conor. Conor McGregor has never, ever — unless he is seriously injured — this guy has always delivered. Jon, I’m a little more skeptical about. [Jones] already came back.

Irrespective of his many antics and controversies, White has always stood by McGregor for his remarkable contributions to UFC. The UFC CEO has repeatedly insisted McGregor has never avoided any fighter, always stepping up to face the toughest and most dangerous opponents. At UFC 303, McGregor’s withdrawal from his fight with Michael Chandler marked the very first time he ever pulled out.

On the other hand, Jones has consistently made negotiations challenging for White, with the recent Tom Aspinall incident being a prime example. According to reports, Jones previously displayed similar behavior during discussions for a potential fight against Francis Ngannou. At UFC 151, Jones controversially withdrew at the very last moment, refusing to face replacement opponent Chael Sonnen.
As a consequence of Jones’ pullout, the event was scrapped entirely, leaving White furious and openly critical of the fighter. Despite White’s negative response, ‘Bones’ remains motivated and is maintaining his fitness levels while preparing for the upcoming White House event. With almost twelve months until that event, fans are curious and eager to see what unfolds next.
Conor McGregor’s latest update about his comeback
Conor McGregor suffered a horrific leg break in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, making take a break from the sport. Following that devastating injury, McGregor used the downtime to explore opportunities outside competitive fighting. He made his Hollywood debut in the remake of Road House, showcasing his charisma and transitioning into entertainment with surprising ease.

During this period, McGregor expanded his business empire with new ventures, while constantly finding himself involved in several heated controversies. However, the Irishman is now preparing for his comeback, recently re-entering the testing pool to meet official requirements for competition.
He has shared multiple intense training clips online, showing his dedication and commitment toward making a successful and impactful return. Many experts, including his old rival Jake Paul, have mocked the ‘Notorious’ by claiming he now looks noticeably slower in training. In a recent X post, McGregor publicly revealed his ambitious plans to participate in the upcoming White House event.
