Dana White is undoubtedly one of the major reasons behind the humongous success of UFC. For more than twenty years, White has given his everything to his company and has saved it from bankruptcy. At the age of 55, many have assumed his potential retirement from the business; however, that doesn’t align with White’s plans.

White recently did an interview with popular journalist Tucker Carlson on his YouTube channel. During the conversation, both individuals talked about a variety of things ranging from politics to fighting. While talking about his future, White revealed that he has no plans to step out of his position in UFC right now.

I will never retire, ever. I will keep dogging this out until the day that I drop dead.

White gave the example of boxing promoter Bob Arum, whom he hates with his whole heart. Despite the bitterness, the UFC CEO credited Arum for his activity at the age of 93, going to different events in short durations. It seems like White wants to follow the same path and continue his work in the UFC for a few more decades.

Apart from UFC, White has launched Power Slap, which, according to him, is a major success. He has done everything in his might to promote the tournament in the last few years. On the other hand, White has also talked about potentially venturing into boxing, which has captured the attention of many. It’s his audacity and effectiveness that make White a top promoter.

When Dana White fired a whole UFC team for not following his orders

The UFC fight business is as wild as it gets. Controlling hundreds of top fighters and running a smooth business is not easy at all. UFC as a company gives its fighters the freedom to speak their mind without any censorship. While it has its benefits, there have been certain situations that have backfired

However, White always believed in freedom of speech and liked to use this chaos to his benefit. He markets the controversies to sell the fights and is well aware of how much potential it holds. However, if things don’t go as he wants, it doesn’t take him much time to take action.

We had a fighter who flipped out in one of the interviews and I loved it. The production team said ‘No, we don’t like this, we shouldn’t do this’. Well, I don’t give a sh** what you think, this is what we’re gonna do. The interview happens, it’s not what I told them to do. I kicked the door of the truck and said if you mother**** ever do this again, I will fire everyone. So, I ended up firing that whole crew.

One of the biggest examples of marketing madness was at UFC 299 when Conor McGregor threw a dolly at a bus carrying fighters. The ‘Notorious’ had to face a legal lawsuit, but White used the clip in the promotion. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor was the biggest fight in UFC history and was the result of White’s bold decisions.
