Dana White has long been open about his health journey, frequently discussing lifestyle changes alongside his role as UFC CEO. After committing to a strict wellness regimen for several years, White recently acknowledged a noticeable physical change, revealing that his weight increased majorly during the summer months. He recently spoke about how US President Donald Trump reacted to that change.
Before beginning the program, White was borderline obese and dealing with health issues such as sleep apnea and nutrient deficiencies. He later connected with biologist Gary Brecka, who placed him on a medication-free lifestyle and recovery plan. After several years of consistency, White significantly changed his body composition. By age 55, he had become lean and muscular, marking a major turnaround.
Two years later, White appears to be putting on some weight as his professional schedule has intensified. His role as UFC CEO has expanded alongside increased involvement with Zuffa Boxing initiatives. He is also currently working closely with President Trump on the UFC White House card scheduled for June 14. That growing collaboration led White to recently talk about Trump noticing the physical changes.
I put some weight back on over this summer. I was with the President last night and he hated when I lost weight like every time I see him he would tell me, ‘You look like s**t man’. He is like, ‘You gotta put the weight back on man, you look terrible. He goes, ‘All these guys that I know, friends of mine they lose weight and they look weird.’ So I see him last night an I put like 25 pounds back on and he is like, ‘Yes you look good, stop losing weight and stay right here.’

Trump’s comments about White’s health stand out given the UFC CEO’s past remarks about the president’s own habits. White has previously described Trump as maintaining an unhealthy diet despite his demanding schedule. He has stated that he has never seen Trump drink water, noting a preference for Coke instead. White has also indicated that the US president regularly enjoys junk food.
Trump has been a major presence throughout White’s tenure as the UFC’s top executive. During the early years of MMA, Trump supported White at a time when many US states were refusing to sanction the sport. That backing helped the UFC continue staging events during a critical growth period. Since then, White has consistently praised the US president and remained a regular presence at his rallies.
Dana White’s health remains a sensitive and closely followed topic given his past medical outlook. Before committing to the Brecka regimen, doctors had reportedly warned that his long-term prognosis was poor, estimating roughly a decade to live. While his condition has improved in several areas, White still lives with Ménière’s disease. His ongoing health journey continues alongside the pressures of leading the UFC.
Dana White doubles down on his comments regarding Europe’s most popular sport
Dana White’s original comments about soccer date back more than a decade and first gained attention during a viral interview. At the time, the UFC CEO dismissed the sport’s overall talent level compared to other global competitions. His remarks quickly spread across sports media and online platforms. The comments became one of White’s most widely circulated opinions outside MMA.

Nearly 15 years after that controversial interview, it appears White’s stance on soccer has remained unchanged. He has recently reiterated that the sport lacks the X factor he believes exists in ice hockey and MMA. White has continued to frame those views around intensity, pace, and perceived athletic demands. That context led him to revisit and further explain the remarks from the original interview.
That wasn’t recent. That was like 15 f***ing years ago. What I said was, ‘It’s the least talented sport.’ I can’t remember how it started or how we got talking about it, but I said, ‘There’s a reason three-year-olds play it.’ I said, I’m not a soccer fan. I’m not a big soccer fan. Listen, I love [Cristiano] Ronaldo, I have a great relationship with him. I love him. No disrespect to any of the guys, but I’m just not a soccer fan.

Despite his long-standing criticism of soccer, White has acknowledged the exceptional talent of Cristiano Ronaldo, calling him an all-time superstar. Ronaldo’s scoring records and global influence highlight the level of skill and dedication required at the top of the sport. This recognition contrasts with White’s broader view of soccer while showing that elite performers can transcend general opinions.
