The UFC has become one of the world’s largest combat sports promotions, with fighters from every corner of the world fighting to be the best. There are almost 578 fighters under contract spanning over eleven divisions from flyweight to heavyweight. This was all possible due to the work ethic and business decisions of CEO Dana White. In a sudden twist, the 56-year-old was recently seen with a fighting robot.
White was present in China for the successful UFC Shanghai event, which took place on August 23rd. The event marked the UFC’s return to China after an eight-year absence. The event was a major success with almost six out of twelve fights ending in finishes. A recent video shows White playing around with a fighting robot that nearly kicked him while he was recording.
White seemed amused after watching the robot in action. He experimented by pushing the robot to the ground and kicking it. However, the robot attempted to kick back at White, who moved out of the way and continued recording the video.

The UFC CEO also separated two robots that appeared to be in an intense face-off. These robots were developed by the Chinese company Unitree for the “Mecha Fighting Series.” The robots made by the Chinese company are known as the G1 humanoid robots and were present throughout the UFC Shanghai weekend.
These robots were part of the “Iron Fist: Awakening” event, hosted by Unitree, which aims to be the first-ever humanoid-robot boxing event held in China. The robots showcase lightning speed motions, including strikes and leg kicks.
White, who has been open to exploring futuristic elements in combat sports, was visibly startled by the encounter. While the UFC continues to expand globally and experiment with entertainment innovations, the Shanghai incident served as a reminder of the risks involved with artificial intelligence. It remains to be seen if the G1 robots will be seen showcasing their skills at any other UFC events in the future.
Dana White talks about work-life balance for UFC employees
Dana White has built a reputation as a relentless leader who pushes fighters and staff to their limits. Over the years, his demanding style often meant long hours and personal sacrifices for his team. Despite this, White has occasionally acknowledged the challenges his employees face in balancing professional and personal responsibilities.

The UFC boss recently appeared on Cutlercast, which is a podcast hosted by bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler. They spoke on a variety of topics, and White also got an unexpected call from US President Donald Trump during the episode. White addressed work-life balance for UFC employees, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and family life.
He revealed that he does not enforce strict schedules or judge staff for when they complete their work. His message resonated because it came from someone known for high expectations and relentless business focus, giving employees reassurance that personal priorities matter, too.
I don’t care if you f*cking do your work at 9 o’clock this morning or 9 o’clock tonight. If your kid has a play, school function, practice, or a game, I hope you’re gonna go. That sh*t’s very important to me.

Dana White’s remarks were widely praised online and showcased a side of the UFC CEO rarely seen by the public. By encouraging staff to prioritize their families, he has fostered a healthier workplace culture while maintaining high standards for professional performance. The statement serves as a reminder that even in high-pressure industries, striking a balance between work and life outside the office is valued.
