Dana White’s Worrying Update on Conor McGregor Leaves Fans Disappointed: “Never Coming Back”
UFC star Conor McGregor 'not fighting any time soon' per bossman Dana White, who pushed for his return all through 2024.

Former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor is nowhere close to a combat sports return. McGregor last fought his way out of a 2021 TKO leg break and hasn’t been back since. After unwavering resolve that he would be, all through 2024, UFC CEO and headman Dana White is now singing different tunes.
Conor McGregor was to return during last June’s IFW UFC 303 PPV card showcase against Michael Chandler. But, roughly three weeks out, right before his pre-fight media presser at Dublin’s 3Arena, ‘Notorious’ pulled out with a foot injury.
Ever since, the Irishman has not been synonymous with any UFC roster opponent or return date. Now, Dana White gave the deeds (a gloomy one) on a supposed return. He told reporter Adam Glyn in a recent TikTok interview:
He's not fighting any time soon, ...I haven't talked to him in a minute. I don't know.
McGregor recently tagged the bossman in a social media hint of a return. However, neither party has dropped concrete knowledge of fight bookings. McGregor is also on the last leg of his UFC contractual run. With two fights left and a loaded status, Dana White also does not see him rehashing for anything better, any time soon. This has further added to the return snag in combat sports.

In his absence from active competition, McGregor has taken to his BKFC equity owner and co-promoter roles. He has even teased going the free agency route until he lands with a grizzly, bare-knuckle bravado. Amid return talks, he was to supposedly face KSI in white collar crossover boxing. However, he allegedly let go of it due to financial hags and setbacks. Now, with his pro MMA career stalled, this recent update does not do him any favors.
Fight fans react to grim Conor McGregor return news
UFC’s big phenom Conor McGregor is never not in the news; seldom for the right reasons, though. After wanting to dissolve or reform the Dáil Éireann (House of Representatives of the Oireachtas/AKA Irish Parliament), he touted a political bid for the nth time. He has also run up some friendly terms with the current GOP administration, JD Vance, and Donald Trump.

Away from fighting in any capacity, McGregor even touted he is flaunting an Ireland-first attitude during the BKFC 70 Hollywood: Palomino vs. Davis, Florida presser. He did say he will be making a UFC return right after. But the telltale signs for it are more than missing.
Once liked for his titanium shinbone-riddled sparring footage, his latest sessions often receive brute judgment from fight fans. CEO Dana White saying he hasn’t recently dapped it up with the fighter about a return news does not instill any renewed sense of confidence. Here is what fans feel about it:
We all knew this, Conor is never coming back just accept it

Conor stop fighting after the lose to Khbib … since then he only focus on making $$$

He should at least return for one more fight, pocket the easy $40 million payout, and just retire after.

He's way too old and out of the sport at this point to be a competitive fighter anymore.

@TheNotoriousMMA call uncle Dana bro get that Chandler fight for November

Safe to say, the responses have been less than kind to McGregor. One prominent comment (@Sports_Alien_OG) even retorted, “We all knew this, Conor is never coming back just accept it.” As a primary promoter for BKFC, McGregor has been away from the UFC grind as it is. If his calls for a return fight fall on deaf ears, such premonitions might just hold true.
