The UFC 306 main event bout between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili turned out to be a rather one-sided affair. The underdog Dvalishvili won a decisive five-round battle against ‘Suga.’ The challenger made it look easy and took the win via decision. However, fight fans aren’t sure if Dana White is happy with the recent development. 

Dvalishvili entered the match with the intention of using his wrestling prowess to overwhelm O’Malley, and he succeeded in doing so. The Georgian fighter exploited O’Malley’s weak takedown defense and prevented him from getting up. It appears that Henry Cejudo‘s insider knowledge was accurate, and O’Malley had to pay a heavy price for it.

O’Malley is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the UFC and Dana White had some big plans for his future. Headlining White’s $20 million dream project at UFC 306 was the first step towards superstardom. White also roped O’Malley to be part of the new Venom movie trailer. After Conor McGregor, O’Malley has been pushed by the UFC to fill the big shoes.

Going into the fight, Sean O’Malley promised to put on a show and get a knockout finish over Merab Dvalishvili. However, during the fight, he failed to engage in striking exchanges and couldn’t do much about Dvalishvili’s wrestling.
