When the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Denver Nuggets in Game 2, D’Angelo Russell‘s performance was praised by everyone. Fans and analysts thought he broke his slump and will continue to produce from Game 3 onwards. Only for Russell to score zero points tonight, which contributed to his team losing again to bring the playoffs record to 0-3.

After the rest of his teammates helped to give the Lakers the lead at the half, the Nuggets started bouncing back. Even though there was a sense of urgency, the Lakers struggled to match the rally the Denver Nuggets put together in the third quarter.

What stood out was D’Angelo Russell missing all his attempts. Such was his disappointing performance that he looked at odds and was seen sitting all by himself even though his teammates were in a huddle trying to figure out how to slow the Nuggets down.

If going 0-7 from the field was not enough, he did not even contribute enough in any other category. Essentially, the player looked lost and disinterested. This was why head coach Darvin Ham decided to introduce other players while allowing him to rest and regain his focus.

That focus did not return. Leaving D’Angelo Russell with a game to forget. Lakers fans watching in the Crypto.com arena saw their superstars perform at their elite best. However, Russell’s lack of production left them and fans watching at home seething.
