Longtime hardcore MMA enthusiasts know of the budding friendship between Max Holloway and Daniel Cormier. DC often used to jibe that he withdrew from title contention and gave the Hawaiian his big chance. Holloway fired back and called out Cormier to a fight. One would think that Holloway’s KO of Cormier’s friend Justin Gaethje might affect this friendship; they’d be wrong.

Max Holloway is a longtime UFC featherweight mainstay and a former champ. He moved to lightweight, contending for the BMF strap against Gaethje. Holloway delivered an iconic last-second knockout at UFC 300. While play-by-play partners Joe Rogan and Jon Anik expressed amazement, Cormier couldn’t hold back his tears seeing his friend Gaethje knocked out inside the octagon.

Rogan is known for his exaggerated animated reactions. But Cormier’s reaction makes sense given that ‘Blessed’ faceplanted his golf partner in the last second. However, he holds no ill will and remains in awe of Holloway’s performance during the buzzer-beating knockdown. Even Gaethje has acclimated well to the knockout loss. This week, Daniel Cormier and Holloway got together on KickStream (Kick.com/maxholloway) to discuss UFC 300.

During the call, Cormier clarified his reaction, stating that he considered Gaethje and Holloway his brothers. He ends the call hilariously, asking to borrow $100K. A natural course of action for a friend, given Holloway took home $600,000 in “Fight of the Night” and “Performance Of The Night” Bonuses. The matter has garnered quite funny responses.

The new BMF champion recently won a whopping $600,000 in fight bonuses at UFC 300. Hence, Cormier didn’t shy away from asking to borrow $100K out of nowhere. Here’s how fans have reacted to it:
