Daniel Cormier speaks for a potential rematch with Khabib if McGregor becomes Interim Champ

The future of UFC’s lightweight division has never been so uncertain as this time. After Khabib Nurmagomedov’s surprise retirement from UFC the lightweight division is open for all the contenders. But Conor McGregor is considered the major prospect that will rule this division again following his comeback at UFC in January.

Dana White still believes that Khabib will come back for one more appearance to complete his father’s dream and take his unbelievable UFC record to 30-0. The people still believe that with Conor making his return to the lightweight division he will try to get hands-on the championship.

Khabib has shown the intention already that he will not fight McGregor at any cost, even if he is paid a million dollars or even if they gave him the whole UFC. But Conor recently can be seen praising Khabib on two or three occasions. Who knows what the Notorious has in his mind, he is the master of these mind games.

Cormier is hopeful for Khabib vs Conor 2

The former teammate and good friend of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier shared his view about Khabib vs Conor 2 in the Ariel and D.C. show. He says, “Could you imagine if McGregor gets a hold of the interim championship and now go to Khabib and go, ‘Hey, October, Abu Dhabi, you and McGregor again, boatloads of money’”.

Cormier also shared his view about Khabib’s retirement. He says, “The only thing I told him was Brother you had the shortest retirement ever, it only lasted three days. We didn’t get much into it. We laughed about it. But if you are Dana White, you are saying what you need to”.

“Hope that that’s what Khabib wants to do. The thing is this man, I take people for their word, I want Khabib to feel comfortable talking to me. I don’t want him thinking that whatever we are talking about, I am trying to find things for my show. But if you are Dana White or UFC, you have to be hopeful”.

If this match really happens it is going to be the biggest match at UFC, especially for Conor fans.
