Daniel Jones Deftly Reveals Discussions With Saquon Barkley About Life After Giants

When Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley were part of the New York Giants, they had a tough time getting into the form they are now showcasing on different teams.

In the case of the running back, he did have the ability to cause trouble for opposing teams. But first injuries, and then even head coach Brian Daboll‘s schemes, could not unlock his true potential.

That saw him being left out in the cold, as the franchise felt it was not important to give him the money that he deserved. The Philadelphia Eagles saw an opportunity and signed him to a league-best contract.

Saquon Barkley then rewarded his new team’s faith in him with a stunning 2000-yard season, leading them to win their 2nd ever Super Bowl. This season, many believe the Eagles can repeat if their star running back can continue his form.

Jones, on the other hand, despite the franchise focusing on him instead of Barkley, faced a lot of trolls due to his struggles with the New York Giants. Eventually, that support ran out, and they released him upon request.

Now, the quarterback has led the Indianapolis Colts to a 3-0 start and surprised everyone with his efficiency and 0 turnovers. This would bring up questions of whether the two are happy after leaving the Giants, and the cast on Pardon My Take asked Jones if he and Barkley would talk about it.

He did not openly admit it. But Jones’ answer indicates the two former teammates have been discussing their past troubles with the New York Giants.

Daniel Jones reveals what Saquon Barkley is like as a person

When Saquon Barkley shocked the football world last season, many felt he was finally proving that he is a bona fide superstar of this league. Despite those accomplishments, Daniel Jones revealed that his former teammate is a normal person.

Saquon is obviously a huge superstar and is one of the best players in the league, if not the best player. But he’s just like a very normal dude. I feel like a lot of people don’t realize that… He’s been a great friend and was a really good teammate when we were playing together.

Daniel Jones said

The Colts QB then went on to say that Eagles fans are right to think of Barkley as a superstar. However, when someone gets close to him, the running back behaves like a normal person, and without the ego that many top athletes have.

This revelation goes to show the respect the two former New York Giants teammates have for each other. They would have wished if they were still playing together, but circumstances have changed.

Saquon Barkley wants Daniel Jones to succeed

When Saquon Barkley came over to the Eagles, he had instant success. But his former teammate has been languishing as a backup until he received a chance to prove himself with the Indianapolis Colts. The running back revealed how he wants Jones to succeed.

The Super Bowl champion stressed that he is happy that his former teammate has received a chance to show the world his capabilities. Knowing the person he knows, Barkley hopes this streak with the Colts continues, and people finally get to know what Jones’ worth is.
