The football world on Friday saw Daniel Jones‘ name spiking their notifications and news programs when the New York Giants decided to release him. Other than the discussions about the franchise’s problems, others wondered if he would be a stopgap solution for a QB needy team, such as the Dallas Cowboys.
With Dak Prescott out for the year, they have activated Cooper Rush to make something out of this season. They also have Trey Lance as his backup. However, Jones has his own set of fans who believe he can play consistently if put in the right situation.
The Dallas Cowboys offense is anything but the right situation. Their abomination of a run game and struggling offensive line are not QB friendly at the moment. However, Daniel Jones was in a similar situation with the Giants and could be a stable option. But when Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones was asked if they had an interest in the just released QB, he denied the possibility.

“No, I think we’re in good shape at our quarterback spot. We think Cooper (Rush) gives us the best chance to win right now. And certainly we still want to see…
Stephen Jones also told the hosts of The Blitz that their long-term commitment to Dak Prescott means they are in no rush for a quarterback. However, if one were to read between the lines, it would seem that Jones does prefer his options over the other Jones.
Skip Bayless gives his view as a longtime Cowboys fan
With the owners already giving their opinion, it seems a door has already closed for Daniel Jones. He can cross the Dallas Cowboys off his list of QB needy teams who might want his services. But sometimes, passionate fans such as Skip Bayless might help sway the owners to rethink their decision.
But this message from the longtime analyst seemingly ends the conversation before even it started. He has covered sports long enough to know the former New York Giants quarterback’s struggles are not worth taking a chance on.
Cooper Rush is better than Daniel Jones.

They have a better chance with sticking to Cooper Rush and Trey Lance. It is not as if the two backups have been error free. But they have been in the system for some time. That means they have the chemistry needed to play better than a stop-gap solution like the 27-year-old.
