When Daniel Jones signed with the Indianapolis Colts, no one expected him to have the season he has been having so far. His redemption saw the franchise streak to become the league’s best team.
Those performances had many questioning whether the former New York Giants quarterback would surprise everyone with an MVP run. He was solid and never showed any of his turnover-prone tendencies in the first 8 games.
In that period, he scored 13 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions. That changed in Week 9, when the Pittsburgh Steelers forced him to throw the ball to them 3 times.
On top of that, Daniel Jones also fumbled the ball three times. Combined with the 5 sacks he faced, the 28-year-old finished the night with a lowly QBR of just 13.
Those performances hark back to his time with the Giants, which led former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Gerald McCoy to question the quarterback’s true worth.
Y’all said the Colts were a force. They took away JT (Jonathan Taylor), and what happened to Daniel Jones?… You took away one player, and they fell apart.
Gerald McCoy said on The Arena
The former six-time Pro Bowler believes the Pittsburgh Steelers exposed what others have not been able to do so far. McCoy pointed out how stopping star running back Jonathan Taylor brought the curtains down on Daniel Jones.

Now, he has legitimate concerns about the entire team’s ability despite them bringing in 2-time All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner via trade from the Jets.
Skip Bayless and Richie Incognito defend Daniel Jones and Colts’ relevance
Gerald McCoy had a point, as Daniel Jones’ 6 turnovers cost the Colts the game. However, The Arena: Gridiron colleague Skip Bayless reiterated that the QB still had the numbers to prove he was playing better.

Jones threw a season-best 342 yards in their disastrous loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Bayless believes his turnovers were just a result of their opponents coming out with their game yet. Hearing this, former NFL guard Richie Incognito added:
I’m going to go on to say Indy is still a force. They had an off day yesterday; they caught the Steelers on a hot day. They stepped into the hornet’s nest yesterday.
Richie Incognito said
The controversial former guard believes it was a matter of the Colts having a very bad day, while the Steelers had their best game defensively. He believes the team can rebound from this.
Tom Brady drops Colts 10 spots on his power rankings
After their impressive Week 8 win, everyone was lauding the Indianapolis Colts and what the trio of women leading the team has done after taking over from their deceased father.
Even Tom Brady ranked them No. 1 on his power rankings, as he was impressed by their grit. When it was time to reveal his Week 9 rankings, they tumbled down.
He listed them at No. 10, down ten spots. Placing them that low meant he was not going to talk about the team. However, it was seemingly evident that he, too, was questioning if the team was as good as their record suggests.

The Colts now head to Berlin, Germany, where they will take on the Atlanta Falcons. Considering how the latter has been inconsistent, it would be a good way to bounce back with a win. That way, they will head into their bye with a win.
