Daniel Ricciardo made his return to Red Bull in 2023 after getting sacked by McLaren. He returned to the Austrian team as a third driver and midway through the season joined Alphatauri (now Visa Cash App RB) replacing Nyck de Vries. He is eager to compete for VCARB in 2024 and is thrilled about having a steady year.

The Australian driver has not finished on the podium since he won the Italian Grand Prix in 2021 while driving for McLaren. So going into the 2024 season his primary goal with the Red Bull junior team is to consistently fight for podiums. He hopes to maintain the same level of consistency that he did during his second Renault 2020 season.

I’ve done two days in the stimulator and now I have another day of filming next week. It’s been good getting back in the car, I have missed it, even when people think I am done with it. These things matter. I enjoy everything and this gives me the motivation to be the best version of myself.

Riccardo is happy with the progress that VCARB has made over the winter and believes that they can no longer be considered a second team or a junior team. He believes that they are going in the right direction, and the team is taking his input positively.  With a better car, Ricciardo and the team look for good results in the upcoming season.

Daniel Ricciardo believes that the new RB team should have at least five podium finishes

The Italian team recently had their car launch at a glittering event in Vegas on Thursday evening. There are a lot of changes going on with the team starting with their name change from previously known as Alpha Tauri to Visa Cash App RB.

Over the winter the new team principal Laurent Mekies, Tim Goss joined in the newly-created role of Chief Technical Officer and Alan Permane joined as Racing Director. The team has also shifted its UK base to Milton Keynes, where its sister team Red Bull is based. The team will also be building a closer relationship with the sister team Red Bull since they will be taking the front and rear suspension and gearbox from them.

The team has always taken itself seriously, but I feel like this is another step up. It’s no longer just a platform for Red Bull Racing, it’s a time for us to fight at the front of the midfield. I like what’s happened, the changes that have taken place. There’s something about the team, the mindset is a bit different, kind of like a point to prove. It’s cool. It’s fun.
