UFC Vegas 23: Daniel Rodriguez defeats Mike Perry via unanimous decision

The much anticipated welterweight scrap between Mike Perry (14-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC) and Daniel Rodriguez (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) just went down at UFC Vegas 23: Marvin Vettori vs Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez secured the victory over Mike Perry via unanimous decision.

Round 1: The round started with Perry landing a low leg kick and he was looking to set up his strikes behind that kick, but Daniel started finding his timing and was landing the one-two combination at Perry. Rodriguez finds his range and busts Perry up with his punches, he is landing them at will and Perry don’t have an answer. Perry landed a massive takedown just as the round was ending and finished the round on top.

Round 2: Round 2 went pretty much the same, Perry was trying to set up his strikes with that leg kick but Rodriguez was not letting him do anything, he was landing jabs at will and he is keeping him at his boxing range to land clean combinations. Perry secured a takedown but Rodriguez got right back up and continued the rest of the round hitting him with his punches.

Round 3: It was do or die for Mike Perry and he was looking for a knock-out but Rodriguez did an excellent job of keeping him at distance and popping him with punches, Perry goes for a takedown but Rodriguez stuffed it and gets a takedown of his own, he keeps landing nice clean shots till the end of the round to finish strong.

Result: Daniel Rodriguez def Mike Perry via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
