- Danielle Collins is currently not competing at the Miami Open due to health issues and is working as an analyst for Tennis Channel.
- During a segment, Collins shared a story about her dog pooping near a rival's locker, sparking speculation about the rival's identity.
- Collins faced criticism from fans for the story, with some calling her immature and nasty.
The Miami Open is underway, but Danielle Collins is not competing and, in fact, has yet to play a tournament this year because of health issues. She is instead working as an analyst for Tennis Channel.
During the Story Time with Danielle on Tennis Channel Live, she recalled an embarrassing moment involving her dog, Mr. Quincy, during her championship run at the 2024 Miami Open, where she defeated Elena Rybakina to win her career’s first Big Title.
I was in the locker room. It was after hours. You’re usually not allowed to bring your dog into the locker room, but I brought Quincy in because no one was really in there. And Quincy was basically running around doing zoomies and getting really excited. And then he decided to take a poop right next to someone’s locker that I’m not a big fan of.
Because in recent years the only player with whom Collins clashed on and off the court is World No.3 Iga Swiatek, fans are speculating that the mystery player was the six-time Grand Slam champion.
So, I’m not going to mention the name of the player. I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus, of course, you know, cause I’m working on trying to be my best self, but Quincy did.

Collins has developed a reputation as someone who is not afraid to speak her mind. And for the same reason, she finds herself on the receiving end of criticism from fans, who slammed her for sharing that locker room story, calling her immature and a nasty person.
Danielle Collins on Iga Swiatek’s shock Miami Open defeat
Swiatek suffered an opening-round defeat at the Miami Open, and it marked the first time she lost a tournament opener since the 2021 WTA Finals. It was countrywoman Magda Linette who came from a set down to knock her out and tie her head-to-head record to 1-1.

While Swiatek made a “worst nightmare” confession after her exit, Collins is not much worried about the Pole’s form and is confident that Swiatek will be able to get up from this slump.
Look, she’s a former Grand Slam champion now multiple times, and former world number one, when she’s on, she’s the best in the world. We know, so with her success, I wouldn’t panic too much over this. I think, maybe not having enough practice leading up to this event, maybe got into her head a little bit, and Linette, nothing to lose.

Before her Miami Open disappointment, Swiatek lost in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open to Rybakina, to Maria Sakkari at the Qatar Open, and to Elina Svitolina at Indian Wells at the same stage. The only tournament she won this year is the United Cup with Poland.
The former World No.1 last won a title at the 2025 Korea Open. Last year, apart from the Seoul event, she reached the finals of the Bad Homburg Open, Wimbledon, and the Cincinnati Open, winning the latter two by beating Amanda Anisimova and Jasmine Paolini, respectively.
The clay swing will start following the Sunshine Doubles, and Swiatek will be seen in action at the Stuttgart Open, where eventual champion Jelena Ostapenko beat her in the quarterfinals last year. On the clay swing last year, the four-time Roland Garros champion failed to defend three titles, including the French Open, where she was playing as the three-time defending champion.
Because of her Indian Wells exit, Swiatek dropped to the third spot on the rankings table. Rybakina took her spot to reach her career-best ranking.
