Daniil Medvedev nominates Gael Monfils for Elite Breakdancing at Paris Olympics 2024

Daniil Medvedev, Gael Monfils

The International Olympic Committee made a paramount announcement, wherein it declared that breakdancing will make its debut at the Paris Olympics 2024. This caught the eye of the World No.4 Daniil Medvedev, who proposed if the World No.11, Gael Monfils, can contend in two events, i.e, tennis and breakdancing.
Previously scheduled to take place this year, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Further, it will feature skateboarding, sport-climbing and surfing for the first time.
With breakdancing’s inclusion, young audiences are hoped to be attracted to the event since this is the maiden dance-sport to make its debut at the Olympics. 16 b-boys and 16 b-girls will compete in a one vs one battle at the Paris Olympics 2024. CNN confirmed the news and Medvedev chimed in.
Medvedev’s suggestion for Monfils

Daniil has had a marvellous season. After an initial disappointing start, the Russian went on to claim the titles of Nitto ATP Finals and Paris Masters. Moreover, he knocked Roger Federer off his World No.4 spot.
When the aforementioned report drew Medvedev’s attention, he had an interesting take on Twitter. He wrote, “Gael Monfils in two sports in ‘24 Olympics?????” Monfils replied to Daniil’s comment through some laughing emojis.
This is due to the reputation that Monfils has garnered for himself around the ATP tour. While the Frenchman is known for his speed and athleticism, he is striking with his dancing skills too.
This video echoes the French Open 2014 clash between Monfils and Laurent Lokoli. In this, the duo not only fought with their tennis skills, but engaged in a dance battle as well.
