Daniil Medvedev recently commented about the recent incident in which Pedro Cachin requested Rafael Nadal’s t-shirt after the match. While many other players have already given their take on this matter, let’s take a look at what Medvedev had to say about it.
For more context, during Rafael Nadal’s Madrid Open third-round match against Pedro Cachin, the Spaniard had to step up his physical game and play a three-hour match. After the game, Cachin kindly asked Nadal for a t-shirt as a souvenir.

However, while this seemed like a heartwarming moment, there were mixed reactions from the players. Czech pro-Jiri Lehecka believed that it was weird for the Argentine to do so, WTA No.1 Iga Swiatek reckoned that she would have done the same. Now, Medvedev also had a few comments about this moment.
That was pretty fun from Pedro. I felt like it was a classy move… If I would do it, I would start collecting, five, 10, here and there. Not my thing to do it with one person. So I would collect many if it would become a thing.Said Daniil Medvedev via Madrid Press.
The Russian was also fine with the classy idea and reckoned that he would have also done it with many players. He also reckoned that it was a move that could inspire others to do the same.
Daniil Medvedev was forced to call it quits during his Madrid Open quarter-final match against Jiri Lehecka
Russian pro Daniil Medvedev had an unexpected withdrawal from the Mutua Madrid Open quarterfinals. The Russian was up against the Czech prodigy Jiri Lehecka, who was fresh off a win against Rafael Nadal.

Medvedev also had some outstanding performances in previous tournaments. Though he started his clay court season on a grim note, he made it up in the Spanish capital. However, everything went bad for the Russian, who faced a lot of difficulties during the match.
In between the first set itself, Medvedev faced many difficulties with his thigh. He took a few medical timeouts during the first set and even stated to the physio that he was scared for his thigh. Finally, after the first set, the Russian called the quits.
An unfortunate outing for Medvedev, who joined the long list of injured top ATP stars. This also threw a shade on his participation at the upcoming Rome Open.
