Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, in a recent interview, predicted that his former club may not win the Premier League this season due to their failure to secure a signing this summer. He believes Liverpool will be out of the title race.
Liverpool have entered a new era under recently appointed manager Arne Slot, bringing an end to Jurgen Klopp‘s impressive nine-year tenure, winning one EPL and UCL title. While the ex-Feyenoord manager’s arrival was initially met with enthusiasm, concerns are mounting over the club’s inactivity in the transfer market this summer, as Liverpool remains the only Premier League team yet to make any signings.
Former Reds player Danny Murphy also predicted that while the club would finish in the top four this season, they wouldn’t be able to surpass Manchester City for the title. Pointing to the team’s inactivity in the transfer market, the 47-year-old stressed the need for a center-back and a defensive midfielder, underscoring the importance of major signings. However, he recognized the potential for growth among the current set of Liverpool players.
I expect them to be top four, but I don't think they'll overcome (Manchester) City. They can't win it with this squad... Significant new signings, I think a center-half and a holding midfielder.Danny Murphy on Liverpool’s chances next season (via One Football)

The Reds recently missed out on signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who chose to stay in Spain. However, Liverpool may be nearing their first summer signing with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool aim to secure a deal for €45 million center-back, as the player’s agents reach England
The Reds are optimistic about securing a deal for Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio, with his agents currently in England. The 22-year-old center-back is valued at €45 million, a relatively affordable price for Liverpool.
Inacio has a substantial €60 million release clause. Additionally, the Reds may need to sell youngsters Sepp van den Berg and Bobby Clark to fund the transfer.
Liverpool had earlier been linked to French defender Leny Yoro, who eventually joined rivals Manchester United. Meanwhile, Joel Matip‘s departure at the end of his contract this summer has left a significant gap in the defense. Recent reports indicate that the defender’s agent, Miguel Pinho, is set to meet with Liverpool to discuss securing a move.
