Liverpool second-choice keeper Caoimhin Kelleher shines in his first PL appearance of the season

He made seven saves in a 3-0 win, and also recorded nine ball recoveries, in his first Premier League appearance of the season. His recent display could moreover, raise questions over Alisson’s place in the starting XI. Kelleher had also come in for the Brazilian last season, and went on to make 25 appearances in his absence.

Despite his heroics, Kelleher could well be on his way out of the Anfield next summer, in order to search for more game time. Liverpool’s signing of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, set to join in 2025, might add to his problems.
