Las Vegas Raiders HC Antonio Pierce expects a much better response from Davante Adams and the rest of the team.

Last week’s win against the Baltimore Ravens should have been the spark the Las Vegas Raiders needed to keep them winning. It should have been an easy outing, especially going up against a Carolina Panthers team in a mess at the most important position. But that did not stop the Panthers from beating the likes of Davante Adams and his teammates.
Head coach Antonio Pierce, though, pointed to something alarming that led to this embarrassment. After the game, he went up to the podium for the post press conference. A reporter specifically asked about the Raiders players not showing up to play.
They didn't. I think as the game went on......I don't think it was the team, I think there was definitely some individuals that made business decisions. And we'll make business decisions going forward, as well.Antonio Pierce said
It was evident to everyone at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, that the players did not show the fight needed to win. Pierce raised the curiosity of the media and fans when his criticism was vague enough for everyone to start guessing who he was talking about.
Some fans thought he was talking about Davante Adams as being the most likely to get the boot. The star receiver is looked at as the de facto leader of this team. But his demeanor tonight was anything but that of a leader. His frustrations might have rubbed off on the team. But Antonio Pierce said, ‘some individuals’, which suggests it is not just an Adams or a singular player.
It was evident throughout the game that the defense just quit. That left the Carolina Panthers offense with journeyman Andy Dalton to torch them through the air and the ground as well. The Raiders team performance was disappointing at best.
Davante Adams and Raiders should fix problems before facing Browns
Next week the Cleveland Browns roll into Allegiant Stadium, and with that will come the opportunity to fix the wrongs of this week. Head coach Antonio Pierce will most likely continue the talk in this press conference into the locker room. He would want his players to know that they need to step up and play to their best every single game. Davante Adams should be exercising his leadership qualities to rile them up.
Instead of holding a losing record, the Las Vegas Raiders should have had a winning record before the Browns came in. If anything, they should practice and get their motivation right if they do not want to be embarrassed at home. Tonight, the defense allowed Andy Dalton to have the perfect response to the Bryce Young benching.
Next week, the hapless Browns might want to seize the opportunity and sneak a win to turn their own season around. But in order to stop that from happening, both the defense and the offense will have to figure things out. Else, as Antonio Pierce said, they will be taking ‘some decisions’.
