The New York Jets concluded another disappointing season with a record of 3-8, extending their absence from the playoffs to 15 years, which is the longest playoff drought in all professional sports. Yet, Davante Adams hasn’t lost faith in his new team, believing they are in a much better position than his former team.

The three-time All-Pro receiver joined the Jets last month, after a disappointing departure from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jets were optimistic about his addition, given that he and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are counted among the most dynamic duos in the NFL. However, their expectations were not met, leading to a disappointing stretch where they lost seven of their last eight games.

When you look at the situation I was in Vegas and you look at the situation I’m in here… the potential of this offense, I at least feel hopeful going into the next game that we’ll be able to have a good performance. Just based on different variables in Vegas I started to not feel that way. Even about myself. At least [I’m] not feeling just helpless and hopeless, that at least makes me feel better knowing I came here and gave it a shot.

The Jets acquired the four-time NFL MVP from the Green Bay Packers last season was the goal of rejuvezing their team. However, after he sustained the ACL injury, he was largely excused for the losing season. This season, despite a change in leadership with the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, the Jets find themselves struggling again with a record of 3-8.

That’s why, this season is considered to be Rodgers’ final season in New York among fans and they have similar speculations about his friend and newly-added veteran wide receiver, Adams.

However, the six-time Pro Bowler brushed off the speculations, stating he is not paying attention to those and is instead focused on securing a few more wins before the season concludes. He also clarified that he cannot predict whether he will stay with the Jets, which is why he is not investing his energy in that topic.
