Davante Adams bids goodbye to ‘family’ Raider Nation after blockbuster reunion with Aaron Rodgers at Jets

Davante Adams wrote a heartfelt note to Raider Nation after his departure to the New York Jets. The wide receiver will join former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers as the Jets look to bounce back from 2-4.
Adams, 31, grew up in East Palo Alto, a small San Mateo County city roughly 35 minutes away from Oakland. In 2022, Adams joined his dream team, the Las Vegas Raiders, after being traded by the Packers.
Adams, a lifelong Oakland Raiders fan, became the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL at the time. In his statement, he acknowledged the dream come true to play in the same team his idols, Tim Brown, and Charles Woodson, once played.
After two years, Adams no longer wanted to continue with his dream team, thanks to management decisions, rifts, and poor future potential. He requested a trade and left Paradise NV for East Rutherford, NJ. The player posted a heartfelt note on Instagram after the bombshell announcement dropped on Tuesday.
Although he unsuccessfully dreamed of a Super Bowl with the team, Adams noted that all his efforts have been in pursuit of the goal in mind. Adams also took some space to thank his teammates, coaches, owners, and staff for their lessons and resilience.
He addressed the Raider Nation, the official fan group of the Las Vegas outfit. Raider Nation, a term raised in the 1990s in Oakland, underlines the history of Raiders’ working-class background and underdog status. In his post, Adams referenced the gritty and familial nature of the Raider Nation, stating that he will always remain a Raider.

However, the Raiders fans aren’t too happy about the trade. Adams has been criticized for quitting the team in the middle of the season. They also drew notice of his hamstring injuries and questioned whether they were fake.
Tim Brown expresses unhappiness to see Davante Adams go
Davante Adams, in 2022, noted that he wanted to win the Super Bowl Championship for the Raiders. He was poised to join the ranks of legends like Tim Brown, Fred Biletnikoff, and Cliff Branch. Two seasons later, the Raiders and Adams fell well short of achieving the goals he had envisioned with the team.
Raiders legend and Hall of Famer Brown expressed his frustration on social media, offering well wishes to Adams on his move to the Jets. He acknowledged that he had anticipated this outcome ever since the franchise parted ways with quarterback Derek Carr. Brown also took the opportunity to criticize former head coach Josh McDaniels.

Brown likely echoed the frustration of many Raiders fans who saw Adams as a turning point. Adams came to the Raiders to reunite with Carr, his college teammate at Fresno State. The way the team addressed Carr’s exit didn’t sit well – packing him up after just a season after Adams’ arrival.
Adams consistently voiced his commitment to the Raiders. However, the team’s failure to replace Carr properly made it complicated. Brown, a passionate Raiders legend, wanted them to reclaim their forgotten Super Bowl contender status. The recent moves haven’t helped, and obviously Brown is disappointed.
