Davante Adams has seen a lot during his ten seasons playing in the NFL. Not only has he played against every major name in the footballing world, but also been to almost all the stadiums in the league. Therefore, he must have observed how fans and the cities of rival teams are. No wonder, the Las Vegas Raiders superstar had something to say about the Washington Commanders.
The three-time All-Pro was a guest on Hot One’s Versus, on First We Feast alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown. As they had to reveal an embarrassing truth or eat a spicy hot wing, it was Adams’ turn, and he decided to reveal who the worst fans in the NFL world were.
You’ve got the Washington football team. They’re obviously just miserable because the stadium is horrible. The city is not great at all. I’m probably going to get somebody at my front door after this, but that’s just how I feel.
Davante Adam said
That is coming from experience playing against them at the Commanders Field a couple of times in the regular season. He has seen the city and experienced whatever the fans have shown in the stadium.
It goes to show that Davante Adams did not think twice and preferred to reveal the worst fanbase in the NFL, instead of eating a spicy hot wing. It could be that the city, often cold during the NFL season, has an impact on the way the fans behave.
That said, he did include the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills in the same category, just that the Washington Commanders trumped them. He will not face them this upcoming season though.
Davante Adams is approaching a pivotal season
The 6-time Pro Bowler is approaching one of the most crucial years of his NFL career. He signed a 5-year contract worth $141 million in 2022. This season will be the 3rd year of that deal. Crucially, the Raiders have the potential to move on once the season ends, as they will have the least dead cap on the books.
This means, Davante Adams can look to move to another team if the Raiders underperform. On the other hand, in case he struggles, the contract structure can be beneficial for the Las Vegas Raiders as well. All that said, if in some way the two decide to continue, they would still need to restructure the contract.
Adams might want to win a Super Bowl before retiring. He knows his former buddy Aaron Rodgers is with the New York Jets. If he does plan to play next season, the two will likely be on a call discussing the prospects.
