New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams faces an uncertain future with the team as Aaron Rodgers‘ potential departure looms. This uncertainty has Adams exploring his options. When asked about the possibility of playing for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, Adams enthusiastically expressed his desire to play under Tomlin.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking into an off-season of changes as both starting quarterbacks from last season are looking into free agency. Furthermore, George Pickens, one of the offensive wideouts, also hinted at a potential exit in the coming offseason.

Davante Adams, who has built a strong resume in the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders, could be a veteran option to introduce some experience in the squad.

In a recent interview with Kay Adams on her podcast, “Up & Adams,” Davante Adams expressed his feelings on potentially playing for the Steelers under Mike Tomlin.

One-hundred percent, I love Mike. Anytime you have a coach that’s a players coach and you can tell that they’ve got a way with their guys…those types of coaches they always win me over. I’ve had nothing but respect for him and it’s been mutual.

Davante Adams said

The Pittsburgh Steelers had been one of the teams who ventured out to bring Adams when he requested a trade from the Raiders mid-season. However, the Jets ultimately secured him by offering the necessary draft capital.

Now, Pittsburgh could have another opportunity to land Adams this offseason if he plans a move. Despite being 32 years old, Adams continues to perform at an elite level. He recorded 1,063 receiving yards and eight TDs across both teams last season and remains capable of producing impressive numbers, even amid the challenges surrounding him.

The New York Jets are looking into a rebuild as they look to a new GM, coach, and a possible new quarterback as well. Davante Adams’ move to the Jets was mainly because of Aaron Rodgers’ presence in East Rutherford. Rodgers is almost certain to either trade away or retire and Adams could make his plans accordingly.

Adams is playing his cards and the Steelers aren’t the only team he’s associated with. Adams dropped major hints that he could also move to his old team Green Bay Packers. The Packers, who made 11 wins in a tough NFC North, were outdone by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wildcard round.

In fact, it seems Adams might be interested in rejoining the Packers, to resolve their woes.

It’s looking right now like they might need some receiver help in one way or the other based on what they have available. Maybe a veteran or something, we’ll see.

Davante Adams remarked

Adams’ ability to create separation and make difficult catches look effortless is exactly the type of playmaker Green Bay needs to help address Jordan Love’s struggles after his regression in 2024. It will be intriguing to see if the Packers pursue Adams should New York decide to part ways with him this offseason.
