It only took Davante Adams one week to understand the culture inside the Jets locker room. The all-pro wide receiver admired the talent that the Jets have accumulated, but he also pointed out the lack of urgency and energy among them.

The Jets currently sit third in the AFC East with an underwhelming 2-5 score after losing the last four games. Even though Adams has only known his teammates for a couple of days, given his seniority and tenure in the league, he felt compelled to speak up when there’s still time to change the situation around.

There was a lack of energy and urgency out there. I took a moment to let them know.

Davante Adams said on Wednesday.

Adams highlighted that he preferred to play the role of an observer early on, but he had no other option left but to speak up. From his point of view, there are several players who have the talent but have never been part of teams with a winning culture like him.

This team being so talented roster-wise, it’s just a waste to have everybody out there and to have a dead sideline like that.

Adams said.

Jets may no longer have Robert Saleh as head coach, but they do boast a side with exciting talent all around the park. Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Malachi Corley, and Quincy Williams, to name a few.

Adams undoubtedly tops that chart as one of the best receivers in the nation. However, the 31-year-old clarified he didn’t join the Jets to be their savior but to bring change in the player’s mentality.

I’m here to help shift this culture more than anything.

Adams added.

Maxx Crosby sent a parting message to Davante Adams after he left Raiders to join the Jets

Despite recording back-to-back 1100-yard campaigns with the Raiders, Davante Adams’ stay in Vegas was riddled with disappointments. Regardless, the Pro Bowl wideout formed bonds with the players, and one of them was star pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

Following Adams’ departure, Crosby, who is also rumored to be on the trade market, sent a heartfelt message to his former teammate.

You know he [Davante Adams] is my twin, my brother. Regardless of how everything ended, I still love him; that’s my guy. I always wish him the best regardless of where he’s at; we’re locked in for life.

Crosby also revealed that he was at the birthday party of Adams’ daughter just days before the Jets trade happened. He has no hard feelings while wishing him luck for the future.

For the Purists, the Jets and Raiders don’t face each other this season, so if Crosby sticks around in Vegas, then perhaps next year these two stalwarts will come face-to-face on the gridiron.
