Dave Bautista has been the talk of the town as of late, regarding the drastic change in his physique. Many fans started to display concern about his weight loss and have compared his figure in his wrestling days to his current physique.
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Dave Bautista shared that he was getting super trimmed.
The Animal also stated that that was the lightest he had been since he was 19 years old.
He further added that the heaviest he had ever been was 370 pounds, which was way back during his Deacon days.
Speculation about Bautista’s health is not new. Fans are accustomed to seeing him in peak physical condition from his time with the Stamford-based company. However, it is unrealistic to expect him to maintain that level of fitness indefinitely after retirement. In fact, the WWE legend’s recent appearance at a movie premiere sparked a lot of discussion on social media about his health.
I’m getting super trimmed. This is probably the lightest I’ve been since I was 19 years old. Now I’m about 240 pounds. Just a year and a half ago for Knock At The Cabin, I went up to 315 pounds and that’s when the nightmare started. Getting that weight off has been a real challenge.Dave Bautista in conversation with Chris Van Vliet
His latest film, The Killer’s Game, will be released on September 13th, also featuring former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a small role. The movie follows a skilled assassin, played by Bautista, who discovers he has a terminal illness. Devastated by the diagnosis, he decides to take control of his fate by putting a hit on himself. However, when his ex-girlfriend is also targeted, he resolves to fight off the hitmen and rekindle his relationship with the love of his life.
Dave Bautista talked about his retirement match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35
Dave Bautista had his final match against his mentor, Triple H, at WrestleMania 35. The Animal turned heel by attacking Ric Flair, which provoked Hunter and led to the 14-time world champion challenging him to a No Holds Barred match. Recently, Bautista revealed whether he was certain about retiring after that match.
In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, the 55-year-old legend expressed that he wanted to retire on his terms, just as he did. Bautista confessed that he didn’t want a grand retirement speech and knew he was finished as soon as the match concluded. The former World Heavyweight Champion was satisfied with the match because he was able to decide the ending he envisioned.
I just didn't tell anybody else, because I didn't want it to be a big ordeal. I didn't want to go out and do the tour and give a speech. I wanted to have my match and I wanted to call it a career... so I wanted to go out on my own terms and I did, with the guy I wanted to go out with.Dave Bautista during interview with Chris Van Vliet
Bautista confessed that he misses wrestling every day and has often felt the urge to return whenever he hears his theme song. However, his response made it evident to the WWE Universe that his days in the ring are well behind him.
