Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump Jr‘s ex-wife, have been serving the media outlets for quite some time now. The pair were speculated to have been dating for quite some time before the former posted his confirmation. However, his post came with an unusual request for privacy, which made Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy indulge in its irony.

Tiger Woods recently decided to put an end to all the rumors and gave in to making his already-known relationship public. Taking to his X account with more than 6 million followers, Woods posted two pictures of himself with Vanessa Trump. In one of the pictures the couple looked straight into the camera, the other featured Trump’s arm on Woods as the two looked skyward.

Along with that, the golfer posted a classic ‘love in the air’ caption, with a request for discretion from their followers. Dave Portnoy retweeted the post wondering about the juxtaposition in his public announcement. More importantly, it was the people involved that made the request all the more absurd.

The comments section gathered a chunk of the couple’s followers remarking the public announcement. While some congratulated the pair, the others mirrored Portnoy’s thoughts, questioning the point of the post. Notably, Tiger Woods‘ post came as a surprise for everybody considering the professional golfer has usually kept his life private from his followers.

Previously, he posted a similar announcement once with former partner Lindsey Vonn in 2013. However, back then it was to stop the paparazzi from following them as it posed a hazard for their children.

Vanessa Trump married Donald Trump Jr. in 2005, and together they raised five children until their separation in 2018. Post her divorce, she had kept largely out of public until Tiger Woods. Both individuals have been headlining media outlets for several weeks now. They went in public on multiple occasions, fueling rumors that they had been dating for longer than anyone knew.

Previously, the Daily Mail reported that Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump had been dating since a while before Thanksgiving. Now, inside sources have revealed the outlet of the golfer’s call to ex-wife revealing his new close acquaintance. Woods decided to make the call to Elin Nordegren for the news would eventually land on her via media reports.

The friend of the golf star shared that Woods had made a call of such sorts previously, however, “never like this”. Woods dialed Nordegren somewhere around December-January when their children had already spent some time with Vanessa Trump. Per sources, the phone call was civil on both their parts, with Woods’ ex-wife supportive of the relationship. However, initially, Nordengren was amused at the mention of Donald Trump Jr’s ex-wife.

Nevertheless, she was accepting, much like with the golf professional’s past relationships which he had kept her in the loop about. Per sources, Trump has been spending more time with Woods’ children meanwhile at the time of the phone call, their relationship was new. Moreover, the kids also liked Vanessa, which made it easier for Nordengren to accept the relationship.
