UFC 314 event on Saturday night in Miami was a star-studded affair. President Donald Trump was one of the many celebrities in attendance, including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. The two even bumped into each other in a hilarious interaction posted by the latter on social media.
Donald Trump arrived at the Kaseya Center to a warm welcome from the crowd, who cheered for their country. Joining him was a full party consisting of Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Elon Musk, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and his granddaughter, Kai Trump, among others.
Dave Portnoy posted a clip on his X account showcasing his exchange with the President as he walked by. After the two shook hands, the Trump supporter seemingly said something to him that made him crack up. In his post on X, he shared that he expressed his appreciation for the water pressure legislation. Portnoy also took the opportunity to invite Trump on the Davey Day Trader Global Podcast.
Donald Trump made waves at the arena from his unexpected and limited presence, with business taking him away after approximately two hours. In his time, he also delighted the fans with his famous “shimmy” dance between bouts.
He also clicked victory pictures with several fighters, including Dominick Reyes and his entire team. Speaking of victory, Dave Portnoy shared his admiration for British fighter Paddy Pimblett, whom he endorsed on his t-shirt as well. Lucky for him, his favorite fighter emerged victorious following a brutal beatdown of Michael Chandler.

Reportedly, the 47th President of the United States also made his pick on who was going to win. In the amusing dialogue, he named Dana White, his supporter and the CEO of the UFC. This was not Donald Trump’s first time attending a UFC event. His presence at the UFC 309 right after the elections was met with the thunderous cheers of the crowd.
Dave Portnoy raves about Paddy Pimblett’s victory at the UFC 314
Dave Portnoy made sure the audience at UFC 314 could tell his bias for the event just by looking at his t-shirt. The Barstool Sports founder donned a “Paddy the Baddy” t-shirt to extend his support to the rising UFC star.
In a video posted on the official handle of the sport on X, he doubled down on his support and gave a testimony to his loyalty. The avid bettor recalled how he started with Paddy Pimblett and stood still on his side of the ring when he went head to head with Michael Chandler at the co-main event of UFC 314.
I’m a Chandler fan but not tonight. Ooohhh Padddddddyyyyyy Theeeee Badddddyyyy https://t.co/N8yPsck0ls

He also reposted the tweet on his X and wrote that on other days, he was a fan of Chandler; however, that day he made his choice. While the two were supposed to go for five rounds, the bout ended in 3 in a dominant victory. Pimblett absolutely crushed Chandler to move closer to a title shot. Portnoy’s tweets on X showcased his liking for ‘Paddy the Baddy’, which was not a new occurrence.
Barstool Sports also celebrated the victory on their social media and hyped up the fighter. Notably, Paddy Pimblett has close associations with the media giant. The fighter was historically the first in MMA to be signed by Barstool Sports. Portnoy offered him a seven-figure deal to become a brand ambassador and content creator with the company.
