The Los Angeles Dodgers are showing no signs of stopping. The reigning World Series champions once again showcased their talents as they came back from 5-0 down and won 6-5 through a walk-off home run from Shohei Ohtani. After the game, manager Dave Roberts dropped an “unbeatable” take regarding his team.
Once again, the Dodgers showed their incredible signs of recovery in this game. They fell 5-0 down in this game early on as the Braves jumped on Blake Snell and some poor defensive showing from their opponents. A two-run home run from Tommy Edman had the Dodgers on board in the bottom of the second inning.
A solo home run from Michael Conforto in the 4th inning and a two-run RBI double from Max Muncy in the 8th inning tied the game at 5-5. Then came the highlight moment from Shohei Ohtani in the bottom of the ninth inning.
On a day when his bobblehead was distributed at the Dodger Stadium, the 2024 NL MVP connected on a 89 mph fastball and send it the bleachers to walk it off for his team.

The win from this game saw the Dodgers sweep the Braves and extended their record to 8-0. They are the first defending World Series champions to start a season 8-0. While going the entire season unbeaten and finishing with a 162-0 record is highly unlikely, Dave Roberts thinks that his team is ‘unbeatable’ at the moment.
I feel like we’re going to win… I think each night we are unbeatable.
Dave Roberts told the reporters in the post match conference
Q: Is this team unbeatable?

Dave Roberts admits being left dumbfounded by Dodgers’ play early on in the game
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers swept aside another team to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. They had to do things the harder way in this game as they came back from 5-0 down. Following the game, Dave Roberts did admit that he was left dumbfounded by the way his team played early on.

Early on, the Dodgers made some defensive errors. Max Muncy made two throwing errors. Outfielders Michael Conforto and Andy Pages misjudged some fly balls, which led to the Braves taking full advantage of it.
I was dumbfounded with the way we were playing, I didn’t recognize that club in the first couple innings. And then just dumbfounded how we found a way to win that game. We had no business winning that game.
Dave Roberts told the reporters in the press conference
The Dodgers eventually found a way back and took the game away from the Braves. While the Dodgers are unlikely to win every game, they can attempt to break the record for the most wins in a season. At the moment, that record is held by the 2001 Seattle Mariners, who won 116 games, finishing the regular season with a 116-46.
Are the Atlanta Braves already out of 2025 postseason race after getting swept by LA Dodgers?
The 2025 season has not been a kind one so far for the Atlanta Braves. After being swept in the 4-game series against the San Diego Padres, they got swept again by the Los Angeles Dodgers. A major question now is, are the Braves already out of the 2025 postseason race?

The Braves are the only winless team at the moment. The loss on Wednesday left them with an appalling 0-7 record.
As per MLB records, no team has made it to the postseason after starting the year 0-7. While there are still 155 games left, history does not favor the Braves in this. Apart from that, the last time a team finished with a winning record after starting the season 0-7 was around 42 years ago, when the Houston Astros finished with an 85-77 record.

The worst start the Braves had in a season was in 1988 when they went 0-10. They eventually ended that year bottom of the NL West standings with a 54-106 record. The Braves will now return to their home and host the Miami Marlins at Truist Park, hoping to kick-start their season.
