Transfer News : David Alaba agrees to join Real Madrid; set to sign a 5-year contract

David Alaba signs for Real Madrid
Amidst the whole shake-up in European football, Real Madrid looks set to have signed David Alaba from Bayern Munich. The 28-year old is currently in his final year contract at the German Champions and will join Madrid next summer.
David Alaba will sign a 5 year contract, which binds him to the club until 2026.The Bundesliga giants have already confirmed that he will not be signing a new contract at the Allianz Arena ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
David Alaba’s arrival at the club could mean the end Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos’ career at the club

The signing of David Alaba could also potentially mean that Sergio Ramos will most likely not remain at the club beyond this summer. Sergio like Alaba is in his final year contract at Real and talks of his renewal have hit a standstill as both Perez and the player have failed to come at an agreement.
Alaba’s arrival will boost Madrid’s resources in defence and in midfield. The versatile Austrian can be employed in a number of positions including defensive midfield, centre-back and left-back by Zidane when he arrives next summer.
David Alaba has participated in 39 matches across all competitions this season, playing as the left-sided central defender in 31 of those games. While he can fill in for Casemiro, he could also fill in at the heart of defence and prove to be a great 2nd choice for Ferland Mendy if the team needs him to be.
He has also played as left back once, holding midfielder twice and central midfielder on five occasions. And this versatility is one of the key factors for his prospective arrival at Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his podcast and the move will be confirmed soon after the player puts pen to paper. The Austrian international released an emotional message to the Bayern fans following their Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain last week, ahead of his anticipated exit in June.
