“He was the first to commit infidelity” – Former Packers OT David Bakhtiari takes a jibe at Aaron Rodgers in an attempt to woo Patrick Mahomes

The Green Bay Packers had one of the greatest duos on offense, and no, it is not Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. Offensive tackle David Bakhtiari shared a great friendship with the four-time NFL MVP and stayed loyal to Wisconsin for 11 seasons. However, unlike Rodgers, he ended his professional career after playing for one team throughout.
Sitting at home and being unable to play football must not be suiting the OT as he put out an interesting wager for Patrick Mahomes on Saturday. David Bakhtiari took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to post an offer too good to say no to.

He called out the Chiefs’ quarterback and challenged his alma mater to beat Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
Fortunately for Bakhtiari, he knew what he was doing. Texas Tech fell 41-27 to Colorado and the former NFL OT did not have to risk unretiring. A fan called him out on his post and asked him “So you’re cheating on Aaron Rodgers now, huh?” To which he had a quick reply.

This was a reference to the quarterback’s decision to leave Green Bay and join the New York Jets. It was a decision that hurt Bakhtiari because the two are friends.
David Bakhtiari’s career was shortened due to injuries
It was odd to see Bakhtiari take a jibe at Rodgers. Fortunately for him, Patrick Mahomes did take him up on his offer but even if he had, it would not be all that bad for him because he would get the opportunity to be a part of a team that is on the verge of making history.
In between 2016 to 2020, David Bakhtiari became the only offensive tackle in the league to earn consecutive All-Pro honors. On December 31, 2020, he suffered a torn ACL, and that injury changed the trajectory of his career.
Since then, he has never been the same and had to be released by the Packers to save the team’s cap space. He entered the final year of his four-year, $92 million contract with the Packers in 2024 and the team’s impatience grew, thereby leading him to get cut.
Bakhtiari intends to make a comeback, but teams are hesitant to sign him because of his injury history. The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, pounce on a good opportunity so it won’t be surprising if Brett Veach has already reached out to Bakhtiari with a proposition.
