Travis Kelce proved that gridiron isn’t his only talent as he flaunted his batting skills and went home as a winner of the home run contest at a charity softball event.
Last Saturday, Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku hosted a charity softball event at Classic Park, in Eastlake, Ohio. The event was filled with sports celebrity glamor as Kelce, Dez Bryant, and Pat Freiermuth from the NFL were joined by some prominent names of MMA such as Yoel Romero, Coby Garbrandt, and Jorge Masvidal.
One particular part of the celebrity softball event has caught many eyes and become a topic of discussion– the home run competition. The three-time Super Bowl champion came out with a triumph with 11 home runs. It wasn’t a surprise, as Kelce played baseball in his high school, even though he chose football later on.
When Njoku was asked about the mad baseball skills of the highest-paid tight end, he responded with some high praise for Kelce.
That's my guy, man--He's one of the purest human beings I've met in my life honestly. Always means well. Just great overall dude.David Njoku said to the reporters
Kelce and Njoku have become close acquaintances of each other since they attended the latter’s offseason Tight End University. His kind words for the nine-time Pro Bowl reflect their bond and respect for each other in the competitive industry of the NFL.
Travis Kelce clinches victory with a swing in the home run contest
As per Camryn Justice of ABC News 5, Njoku’s teammate RB Kareem Hunt was initially in the lead to win the home run contest with 10 home runs. But Kelce flipped the coin and edged him by one to win the contest. It was truly a thrilling event and one of the many endeavors by the Chiefs’ star TE until the preseason begins.

After the home run contest, the players divided themselves into two teams, one of whom was led by Njoku and another by the Browns’ defensive end, Myles Garrett. As Kelce joined Garrett’s team, they succeeded with a victory of 20-5.
While speaking to the media, Njoku also hinted at something more exciting and grand he has planned for the next year’s event. He called his plans “juicy” and refused to reveal any more details about the anticipated event.
