Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays are moving on to the 2025 American League Championship Series (ALCS) following a 5-2 win in Game 4 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) against the New York Yankees. After their win, he and David Ortiz came together to troll the Yankees with a brutal jab.
The Blue Jays, who had dominated the Yankees in the regular season, won the first two games in Toronto and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. Guerrero Jr., who has been a thorn in the side of the Yankees, would take center stage once again.
They were in cruise control at one stage in Game 3 as well. They were leading 6-1 by the top of the 3rd inning. The Yankees managed to come back and won 9-6 and avoided getting swept.
In Game 4, Guerrero Jr. and his team took an early lead again. His single in the first inning made it a 1-0 game. While the Yankees did manage to make it 1-1, they eventually lost 5-2 and suffered another playoff failure under manager Aaron Boone.

After the game, Guerrero Jr. would join the MLB on Fox Sports broadcasting crew to talk about the game. During this, he and Ortiz would team up to troll the Yankees.
Former Yankees broadcaster John Sterling would shout, “The Yankees Win” after the Yankees would win a game. Ortiz would twist this signature call of Sterling and make it, “The Yankees Lose.” He has many times used this phrase to take a shot at his ex-rivals.
This time, he and Guerrero Jr. would use this. The duo kept on shouting in unison as former Yankees greats, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, watched on.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. once again haunted Yankees
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has some history with the New York Yankees. The 5-time MLB All-Star has a good record against the Bronx Bombers. He once again haunted them during this ALDS matchup.

In the 4 games, he went 9-for-17 against them. This saw him bat with an average of .527 with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs.
One of these home runs was a grand slam in Game 2. His shot against Will Warren turned out to be the Blue Jays’ first grand slam in their postseason history.

Guerrero Jr. and his team will now prepare for their first ALCS matchup since 2016. That year, the Canadian outfit lost 4-1 in the best-of-seven series against the Cleveland Guardians.
The focus in the American League now shifts to Game 5 of the ALDS between the Seattle Mariners and the Detroit Tigers. The AL Central side claimed an important win on Wednesday against the Mariners and forced Game 5. The winners of this matchup will take on the Blue Jays in the ALCS.
