Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees rivalry still remains strong, as former team legend David Ortiz shares a laugh with Baltimore Orioles Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman at Yankees disastrous performance ahead of the All-Star Games.

The Yankees‘ offensive and defensive play took a huge hit the last couple of games, while the team’s inconsistent performance enraged the entire fan base. While fans have been calling out the players and manager Aaron Boone for their game strategy, there have also been parties who are enjoying the whole incident unfolding.

One of them is former baseballer David Ortiz. During the peak era, he was in the midst of the Red Sox and NY Yankees rivalry wars in the 2000s. At Globe Life Field before the HR Derby, he sat with Henderson and Rutschman to discuss their first half of the season performance against the pinstripes.

They were joined by two New York Yankees stars Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter on the panel. The topic of their discussion was focused on the Orioles vs. Yankees game on Sunday where the former crawled back from the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game by a 6-5 record.

The Orioles players were seen smiling while they discussed their victory while pointed out the Yankees’ miserable mistakes. The flashback clip showed Anthony Volpe making a brutal error that led to the first three runs in Oriole’s comeback. Ortiz commented,

Nothing made me more happier than that. You guys coming from behind and whoop them…I mean wow, that made me want to go out for dinner – a nice dinner, big steak, with my boys right here.

On the corner, Derek Jeter could be seen with his hand on his face with embarrassment. The Yankees’ recent performance has been accompanied by boos all round. The team is currently looking to strike back after the four-day break and possibly add new members to the roster during the MLB Trade Deadline.

Gunnar Henderson makes flawless Scooby-Doo impression prior to the All-Star Game

Orioles shortstop and third baseman Gunnar Henderson re-enacted an A+ Scooby-Doo impressive when asked by the interview panel at Globe Life Field ahead of the All-Star Games. His expression made everyone have a hearty laugh including the player himself.

Taking a look back at Henderson’s school days, his former high school coach Stephen Clements commented how the 23-year-old has always carried himself with humility and respect for everyone. He boldly claimed that there was no one who could point out his negative traits, and how the player always respected everyone both on and off the field.

Look, if he’s walking down the hall and there’s trash on the floor, he’ll help me pick it up. Or if I’m toting something that’s heavy, he’s going to get it from me. He was just that kind of person on the field and off the field.

Henderson proudly added that manners was something “my parents have instilled in me,” and he carries it out with pride. Orioles minor league coach Kyle Moore also complimented Henderson saying “It’s not a fake try-hard…it’s real.” He’ll be having more spotlight to himself after attending the All-Star Game and with his performance surge with the Orioles.
