The ongoing 4 Nations Face-Off has received positive reactions from the fans and experts of hockey. With just one more game remaining in this international tournament, Connor McDavid called for the inclusion of all countries in any such future tournament. Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak would then drop a 2-word reaction to this.
The 4 Nations Face-Off is the first international tournament in which NHL stars are going against each other since the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. This event, which was brought in to replace the 2025 NHL All-Star, featured four teams in Canada, USA, Finland, and Sweden.
McDavid, who is representing his country Canada, has expressed his wish to see all countries participate in such best-on-best international events. He claimed that some of the best players in the league are sitting at home due to this event consisting of just four countries.
I’d love to see all countries represented. It’s great that it’s best-on-best, 4 Nations… but there’s some great players sitting at home.
Connor McDavid told the reporters at the 4 Nations Face-Off press conference
"I'd love to see all countries represented. It's great that it's best-on-best, 4 Nations […] but there's some great players sitting at home."

Pastrnak’s country Czechia is one of the big names that was not represented at this tournament. Apart from them, players from Slovakia, Germany, and Russia were also forced to watch the action from the sidelines. With the World Cup of Hockey announced for 2028, it is likely that these stars might get a chance to represent their nations on the international stage.
Nathan MacKinnon endorses Connor McDavid as the ‘best player’ in the world
A few days ago, Colorado Avalanche star forward Nathan MacKinnon hailed Connor McDavid as the best player in the world. On Wednesday night, he once again endorsed him for the same and emphasized why he thought so.

McKinnon, the reigning Hart Memorial Trophy winner, was once again asked why he called McDavid the best player in the world. The Canadian star at first jokingly asked, “I have to explain it?“. He then simply urged the others to watch him play.
There’s a long, long list. Just watch him. He’s been doing it for a decade. He’s just so fun to watch. It’s obvious. Whatever Connor thinks he should do… he should do.
Nathan MacKinnon told the reporters
“I have to explain it?” 😂💀

MacKinnon won the Hart Memorial Trophy last year ahead of Connor McDavid and Nikita Kucherov. The Avalanche star finished with regular season with 140 points (51 goals and 89 assists) and was thus voted as the MVP of the league.
However, despite this achievement, for him, McDavid is the best player in the world. The two Canadian forwards will now look to add an international honor to their names as they take on Team USA in the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament on Thursday.
