Prayers. Elizabeth Perron. We decided her name on our way to get a procedure done in Toronto. I needed her to be real before risking to lose her. A couple weeks before at 30 weeks I found out she had a large congenital pulmonary airway malformation.

Vanessa Perron wrote on Instagram.

Im finally 37 weeks and that’s a big milestone for our little warrior. She will most likely need to go under for a major open surgery at birth. The risks are big. As a mother it is a nightmare to know you are about to give birth and also know what she will have to endure in order to give her a chance to live.

Given the current situation, it comes as no surprise as to why David Perron decided to leave his team. At the moment, it is unclear when he will return to the team.

Fans on X shared their prayers while keeping Perron and his family in their minds. Some fans wished them luck, while others lauded the courage of Vanessa and David in this situation.

So far this season, Perron has been pointless in his first five games. Despite this, the pressure he has generated in the offense sees him lead all of his Senators teammates in several five-on-five stats. In his absence from the team, Ridly Greig has stepped up and filled his position on the ice.

The Senators, on the other hand, will start a three-game road trip on Tuesday which will see them face the Utah Hockey Club, Vegas Golden Knights, and the Colorado Avalanche. With a 3-2-0 record so far, the Sens would be hoping to improve this record on the road without Perron before heading back home to face the St. Louis Blues.
